Furry New Friend
Hiking along the mountain trail,
We came across a lost dog so frail.
Took her to the vet but thereʼs no chip.
Now my kids insist we keep it!
Another mouth to feed I surely donʼt need.
To walk her, bath her and daily care is a great deed.
They donʼt give up begging, more and more.
Then my little girls eyes begin to pore.
Oh no Iʼm going to cave in,
Is this honestly really happening?
Her love for this dog I surely felt.
My heart is now beginning to melt.
I really donʼt want this new hound, But I would never take her to the pound!
I give in to keeping this sweet girl.
Sheʼs part of our family,
And they named her Pearl!;)
