The whole cabin by rights, was a dungeon. I was trapped. Once I laid my belongings down on the hardwood floors HE changed. The changed him I did not like would not have liked in anyone. What love or kindness I had imagined, dissolved. He commenced working on my brain, presumably he had success at getting what he wanted. I was in a dungeon long before the real one emerged.
Afield
Alone she walks.
I watch her,
Grow closer.
Her light glows.
Soft, tiny dots of lights.
Dance from her moves.
Her breath, her laugh,
She finds joy in birdsong.
Freedom in air.
The bark of tree,
She mumbles a prayer
To an entity above.
This man she loves
I will devour.
Her.
I would bed.
If only
A wolf
As I am.
Log cabin
I want to release
Let go
Fall.
From the roof
Of this cabin
Iced.
You
Hold me
Within
Lies.
My fault
I believed
So long.
My battle,
You.
My diversion,
Walls
Cut by hand.
Hewn by men.
Set in place
For eternity.
My passion
For the ancestors
Trapped.
Hearing free
Winds
Howling through
Crevices natural
Aged.
My romance
With ghosts,
Restless souls.
Danced in webbed
Shadows.
Dust laden
Double paned glass.
Blurred
Aqua blue.
We had so many
Dreams,
Together.
Resurrect the walls
Rebuild,
You let the cabin.
Speak your devotion.
The crumbling foundation,
Gave in.
I gave up.
Walked the lonely
Road to the top
Of the hill.
I could not look back.
Oh, the winds of the valley.
Spiral round and above.
The sun peeks into
The hollow.
No more she walks the hills,
The floors.
No more she calls, this
Home.
The animals.
The trees.
The riverbed fossils.
Have settled back
Living life again without her.
They curse the man
That brought her here,
Loving her at once.
Their world embraced
Her.
Colored, and
Came alive.
Now they live in grays,
Again.
Cold, alone
Iced.
