Fireman
My fire pager disturbed my sleep
I peeked out the window, to see why it beeped
A big red fire truck ventured out into the night
I watched it pass by with its flashing red light
Just then an old memory came to mind
I was a child, around eight or nine
When I grow up, I want to be a fireman, I thought
From that moment on, I was forever caught
Fighting fires and saving lives was the life for me
Never imagined life in a wheelchair is my destiny
This is no way for a fire fighter to live
Not when I have so much more I want to give
So now I sit and watch the big red truck go by
While an uncontrollable tear or two floods my eye
With the Captain’s spot filled, there’s no need for me
Reasons to keep on living are hard to see
No one wants a fire fighter who is lame
I’ve lost my dream, to fight the flame
If I go to Heaven when I die
I hope to give firefighting, another try

Weary Traveler
Welcome weary traveler, welcome to my home
Come in and chase the chill, from your tired bone
Let me take your hat and coat, warm yourself by my fire
Have some food and drink, enjoy all that you desire
Now, it is time to rest, sit upon my couch
I have some special tobacco, here in this old pouch
Please do not be frightened, take a little toke
Soon you will be in a fantasy world, when you finish your smoke
Lay back on this pillow and rest your clouded head
Close your eyes now, there is nothing for you to dread
As you visit the valley of dreams, I must prepare to feed
I thirst for life and fortunately you, have what I need
I promise you will hurt, as I begin my feast
Life will flow from your veins, and feed my inner beast
You will experience great pain, when I begin to bite
Paralyzed with agony, my will, you cannot fight
Before long you will beg for mercy, but you will receive none
The intense pain will increase, until my will is done
When I finish your life will be over, your soul belongs to me
Forever a prisoner in the Netherworld, you will be
~Dave
Reality
Gaze into my eyes and you will see
A glimpse of Hell that will make you bleed
It is a ghastly underworld of torture and pain
Where nightmares come true, and nothing is the same
Soon the paranormal will enter your mind
Disturbing visions you will find
Just lay back and try to relax
Savor your breaths to the last
This is His will and it will be done
It brings Him pleasure to dispatch someone
Beg for mercy is what He desires
As your mortal soul succumbs to the fires
But death will come intensely slow
When will it come, you’ll never know
Look into my eyes if you dare
Show Him that, you just don’t care
Prove that you wish to rule the dead
To the Nether World, you will Head
Gaze into my eyes and you will see
Your world has become a Hellish reality
~Dave
Dungeon
Welcome to my Dungeon, come on in
Hold this torch the tours’ about to begin
Stay close to me, don’t touch the walls
Ignore the inhabitant’s pleas and calls
Here in this chamber, I greet new guests
Put them through some basic torture tests
Over there daily beatings are given
Screams of pain keep the punishers driven
Now come with me, walk this way
Down these halls never see the light of day
Chained to that table is someone bad
So we drip water on his forehead to drive him mad
Watch your step, walk around the hole
For deep inside lay forgotten souls
Avoid the puddles; they’re not what you think
They’re infectious waste the locals drink
The rats down here are larger than dogs
Also be on the lookout for carnivorous hogs
Ah here we are the chamber of confession
In here the guilty learn a horrible lesson
Don’t look at them, just keep walking
Their tongues are removed to keep them from talking
Torture and pain are a way of life here
Some even survive on what many fear
Oh my, please forgive the smell
This is where we keep those, who aren’t quite well
Soon it’ll be feeding time, it’s a nasty brew
There’s plenty for all, how ’bout you
Please don’t panic, you’ll only make it worse
I promise to take pleasure when you hurt
Dungeon Master
Cripple
I can no longer live my life as a cripple
I miss the past when my fingers did more, than just wiggle
If it wasn't for my daughter and my wife
I would have surely ended my life
The rule of this alpha male has finally died
I deserve a death full of dignity and pride
Now I am running out of reasons to breathe
I think I am ready, for a rest in peace
Tonight, as I pray for death, I will try to be brave
Undertaker, please prepare an unmarked grave
I have packed my things, I am ready to go
To heaven or hell I really don't know
Don’t cry for me when I am gone
I am happier now, this is where I belong
In this unknown place, I will survive
Free from my throne, will I feel alive
I promise to come visit you each and every night
In your dreams, I will be there, to hold you tight
I have to go, tears are burning my eyes
To all that I love, this is my last goodbye

Alpha Male
Sit back and let me tell you a tale
’bout a man named Dave, who was once an alpha male
He once fought what others fear
And took care of those he held dear
A careless surgeon tried to take his life
Everything changed when he went under the knife
Visions of hell filled his head
Often wondering if he was dead
When he woke from a six week nap
He couldn’t move or talk and he thought, what the crap
From that point on the alpha male was gone
Dave was being punished, but he did no wrong
Helpless and weak, he managed to survive
He was a shell of a man who lost his drive
Losing his son was the final straw
Into the grave he wanted to crawl
Andrea May saved his life
So naturally he made her his wife
He mourns the alpha male every day
It’s a struggle to live his life this way
A cripple in a chair is what he’s become
Staring down at his paralyzed thumbs
Friends and family inspire him to live
Sadly he wishes he had more to give
When the alpha male dies, another moves in
Sometimes I wish another would move in
And continue the legacy that Dave had begun
I wish my life as a cripple was done
~Dave
