Trampas
Lord if you look down at your feet you will see something sweet
A happy little boy, with eyes full of joy, who has more than likely brought you a toy.
He was so precious to me, and now he lives with you for eternity.
Take care of him just as I did, pick him up he will give you a hug.
Look into his big brown eyes all you see is love.
Two years is not enough time you see.
Now all I have are memories of a sweet little boy.
He was kind and sweet , never mean, he always had such gleam.
Its so quiet now without the pitter patter of puppy feet always following me.
I know you have your reasons for taking him soon, perhaps he was too wonderful
for this world or too precious to stay, but we miss him everyday.
I know one day I’ll see him again, Until then give him all my love and a Trampas hug.
My Old Man
He was a quiet man, he was never in a hurry always took his time. He was a farmer, a skilled carpenter but to me he was Daddy.
I can still hear him say "As long as I can see my reflection looking back at me its a good day"
Every summer of my childhood was spent in the woods sawing lumber. When the relentlessness Alabama sun got too hot we would head back to the home he built. It was a beautiful place in the country sitting on thirty-seven acres of beautiful pastures accompanied by two ponds filled with fish. We had a huge garden with peas, squash, okra, tomatoes and corn, all planted by hand.
Its been four years since he left this earth, but I'll see my old man again someday, til then I'll live one day at a time.
