Somatic
To write a poem that reflects your essence, do not sleep.
Ask yourself what questions lay unanswered in your mind, what curiosities befuddle you about your existence. Think about these questions and go about your day as usual. Do the mundane and the crucial tasks that keep you busy in your waking moments, but do not sleep.
Do not sleep until you are tired - when your body surpasses exhaustion and only a desire for reprieve from the waking world begins to pull you. This should happen in the early hours of the dawning day, when others are already deep in slumber. Lay in your bed, close your eyes - but do not drift off into that other world until you ask yourself once more, what has been bothering you? What questions do you need answered? Think of this as you go, and when you wake, write what you can remember. See what answers you found, within your own wisdom come morning.
It’s your time now
It’s time to turn the page
of old and forgotten age
It’s time to write a new chapter
making new moments to capture
It’s time to know of the real character
instead of being fake like an actor
It’s time to read further in the book fast
not looking back to the rusted past
It’s time to see how you grow
instead of feeling numb and low
It’s your time now to flourish
find your passion to cherish
It’s your time now to walk away
from the worldly and rugged pathway
It’s your time now to change
lots of knowledge to exchange
It’s your time now to choose
the things you’ll never lose
Go, it’s time…
Your time…

I love Thee
I see thee in the still of night,
Thy visage framed by gentle moon's soft light.
In whispered winds, I hear thy silent plea,
And through my veins, thy spirit flows through me.
Thou art the vision in my waking dream,
A tender echo on the quiet stream.
My heart's own blood doth bear thee ever near,
A vessel for thy presence, sweet and clear.
In morn's first blush, thy countenance I spy,
Thine essence captured in the azure sky.
The river of my life, it knows thy name,
And carries thee, a never-ending flame.
I feel thee in the tranquil twilight's glow,
A phantom's touch, as gentle as the snow.
My very soul doth hold thee, bound and free,
In every beat, thou art a part of me.

The Woman Within
She's there within you.
A cloud floating by, a petal in the stream.
You'll miss her if you aren't careful.
But, if you're looking up, or peering down,
You might just catch a glimpse.
When you feel her peak out, hold on.
I feel her when my motherly instinct kicks in.
I feel her when I cook, as I measure each ingredient with my heart.
I feel her when I'm kind, when I'm humble.
I feel her when I learn.
She is the woman I've always wanted to be.
She is me, if I can only catch up to her.
I chase after each cloud, and try to grasp each petal in the stream.
To Hopeless Romantics, I’m sorry
Hopeless romantics will always stay that way in real life
Life is not a romcom or fairytale
The perfect relationship with no bumps or falls
I hate to break it to you, but they'll always fail
It's okay to dream and yearn
But don't drag others into that fantasy
Because no one can act the exact way you want them to
And trying to force that will end in travesty
Be real, you're not asleep when you walk the Earth
Think your actions through, because everyone needs to think
You can have hope in romance but remember it takes more than one
You can get your relationships but don't let it easily sink
