A simple guide to how teens talk
Here is a quick list of phrases to know when conversing with a teen.
I've found that many of my slightly "older" friends need a translator when they are out or seeing something a teen sent. This is basically my second language....If I didn't have to take Spanish, I'd take teen and get an A. If there are any other terms that you want defined, leave a comment!
i'm shook
shocked. eg. OMG that movie was so crazy, i'm shook!!
its lit
1) really cool or fun 2) under the influence
eg. The party last night was LIT bro!
fam
close friends, homies
eg. What up fam!
deadass
seriously
eg. i ain't lying bro, I'm deadass
can’t even
too ridiculous.....
eg. Bro, I can't even.....
bye felicia
just leave. NOW
eg. "hey guys i'm leaving" "bye felicia!"
Use this in your teen dialogue for stories! Lately I've been reading a lot of YA and the type of teens written in the books are just not relatable. Teens today text. They use this slang.
This is how teens today talk. Watch some Jake Paul or something and you'll hear all of these like 100x
