Marvelous Travels
I've made a map of your marvelous mind
and rode along your train of thought for quite some time
as the big wheels continued to wind
you shared secrets most would
never find
provoking the sleeping
butterflies inside
you admire the flushing of my cheeks
quite aware of the beautiful chaos you're causing
you invent my future between your
long pauses
I reside inside a captivating gaze
finding myself swimming around the deep pools of iris
weaving a basket of feelings into thoughts to try to make sense of this
you make me so alive
so vibrant
I prayed in silence
that those eyes would no longer look to anyone else
never leave me in the dark
stranded by myself
Blushing Bride
A ballet of leaves dance across the sky, as the wind hauntingly howls to the midnight moon.
A soft surreal glow shines down upon us; as kind kisses are exchanged.
being particularly placed; on pale stretches of skin.
Endearing earfuls of wonderful whispers invade my mind, with thoughts provoking feelings that flutter inside.
While my cheeks are burned with color; I sigh. Child like and wild like; exactly all we are tonight.
Just Needs A Little TLC
Beneath the heartwood pine, where dust settles; building shelter between endless spaces.
Cordially inviting strands of sunbeams for slow dances; while strong breezes make their passes. Recumbent skeleton keys and copper pennies reside; on shards departed from broken glass. Scuff marks and shuffling shoes interrogate weakened floor boards. Under heavy pressure, crying out in defeat; revealing secrets it swore itself to keep. Paint-chipped doors, once sturdy barriers, that alienated the outside world; now piled upon porch steps. Long since unhinged from their frames. Humidity rises; as the damp air gets heated within. Orphaned, lacking proper attention; dressed in emerald ivy. This old house that impatiently awaits, longing to be explored; seduces its visitor while drawing out a whisper, "Please, don't leave me here alone. Won't you come along and make me feel like home again?"
Zero Below
With frost on your bones you abandon love in your repossessed home. You like to borrow what's beyond your means and call it yours for a while. Pretending to be everything you're not and flashing a fake smile. Don't be surprised when you meet your match someday; they'll play the way you play. They'll leave your heart aching; leaving you alone. With no where else to go; now you're the one left outside when it's zero below.
