Untitled Sonnet
Toward the sky, shall I look up today?
To sail by wind, succeed by step action.
We see above the clouds a lighting grey;
In sail is strength and rig a skeleton
Who navigates a question, who and where
A channel marker a milestone, the same.
Adrift: off course, to port, to work, in fair
Afloat, traffic light up and flash your name
But cracked the seam of sunburned saltwater.
Captain goes down: the down is up in flip
Like head and tail two sides the room, quarter.
Filling the draining sea of land a slip
Out there a crimson horizon defrost
Our destination no longer is lost...
Velocity
Drive,
Headlights call,
Engine rumbles,
Inhaled exhaust,
Crank the music.
Wind rushes,
Open windows,
Dark roads,
Vast emptiness.
Breath,
Press the gas,
Acceleration,
Tight stomach,
Exhale.
Signs flash,
Memories flash,
Lights flash,
Life flash.
Empty tank,
Quiet station,
Lonely road home,
Parking brake,
Lights off.
Remnants,
Burnt rubber,
Tire marks,
Dried tears.
Will He Love Me?
Falling,
Why do we fall,
We trip,
We jump,
We close our eyes.
It is just a seemingly endless cycle,
Over and over,
This falling,
This feeling,
This hope to be caught.
Maybe this time he’ll catch me,
You think,
But you crash,
But you’re hurt,
But he turns away.
There is nobody to blame,
I’m falling again,
Will he catch me?
Will he see me?
Will he accept me?
Will he love me???
Re-Publish of “Gentle Devastation”
Hold my hand,
Pull me closer,
Whisper my name,
Don’t let me go.
Not true,
You aren’t mine,
Letting me fall,
Just for show.
You can’t be blamed,
It may be awkward,
I understand,
I know.
Love chooses who,
We do not,
We wish we could,
But we only follow.
I look to you with love,
You look back,
With vacant eyes,
Cold as snow.
You’re my everything,
I’m your nothing,
I won’t forget you,
You’ll forget me tomorrow.
Slowly you fade from me,
You try to leave,
But you’re stuck,
At least for now, so...
Please don’t push me,
Out the window.
(I know you want to...)

Safe with Death
Push and shove,
Down the stairs,
Woke up not here,
Far far away.
A whisper to me,
Husky and strong,
You're perfect,
So beautiful.
He sang to me,
Held me close,
Bandaged my head,
Said goodbye.
Told me,
It wasn't time,
But asked,
If I wanted to stay.
I said sorry,
I cannot,
So he sent me away,
Back here...
But before I left,
He told me,
He would wait,
Excited for my return.
I cannot ignore,
That I await my return,
To that voice,
The one that healed me.
