Write about a character that has an encounter -- to whatever degree you wish -- with the ghost of a deceased love one.

Write a story about anything, in any genre, the only rule is that the story take place in another time period, and you must show that throughout the story, in the way the characters act, in the current music, in the technology of that day, etc.

Write about yourself if you were living in a different time period. Write about what you'd be doing, how you'd be doing it, but don't just tell me the time period, show me it by what you describe.

Write a poem about whatever you want, but make it totally absorb whatever emotion you are feeling at the time of writing it. I want to FEEL your emotion screaming, crying, cussing from the page.

Write your own negative utopia/dystopia.

Your character is living in a futuristic world. But he or she feels that there is something terribly wrong with the society around them. Describe this world and what they see is wrong with it. It can be a realistic future world or entirely unrealistic.

What environment do you write best in? Quiet with virtually no sound? Music blasting and keyboard smacking? Other ones? List your preferred environment and why.

Expound on one of the following: Love, Pain, Loss, Happiness, Anger, Vengeance/Revenge OR any other emotion or feeling you can think of. Be as emotional, as true, and deep as you know how. 200 word minimum.

Write a longer piece, any genre, any them, only rules are that it's fiction and that it is 500 words or over.

Write about the thinness of sanity and reality in a form of a story. Any genre you want.

Write a short story. The only thing I as is that there is some moral to the story, a lesson to be learned. But at the same time don't make the moral obvious, weave it into the tale as best you know how. A 500 word minimum. Because Prose needs longer pieces and also people who will read them.
