I am.
someone who has their shoelaces untied,
a moon jelly drifting in tidal waves,
a perpetual motion machine,
a grain of sand stuck to the whims of time,
someone who pretends,
that life is fair,
success depends on hard work,
and those who don’t work,
reap their reward,
someone who is afraid,
of falling, but more than falling, failing,
riding a rollercoaster when I’m 4’ 10”,
but the height limit is 5’,
someone who is jealous,
of those who seem to get everything so easily,
those who can free-dive 40ft,
while i’m drowning,
someone who hates,
those who think i’m not capable,
who think my life is a kiddie pool,
and i need to get over it,
someone who has their shoelaces untied,
a moon jelly drifting in tidal waves,
a perpetual motion machine,
a grain of sand stuck to the whims of time,
i have these faults, yes,
life isn’t always fair,
but i am selfish,
and i want to be the one who stands up,
when everyone thinks i will fall,
sand can become glass.
My love
I can hear your heartbeat,
The blood, the life,
The passion for what you do,
I swirl red on the empty canvas,
A color of bloodshed,
But to me it's your hair,
Bright, loving , and vibrant,
I can touch your hands,
Rugged, worn knuckles,
Filled with years of hard work,
And dedication,
A tree trunk,
I paint splotches of brown,
A color of dirt,
But to me it's your face,
Diligent ,honest, and real,
I can smell your perfume,
Peaches and Vanilla,
Soft aromas drifting off,
The warmth of the sun,
I splatter speckles of yellow,
A color of jaundice,
But to me it's your eyes,
Cheerful, optimistic, radiant,
I can taste your cooking,
Basil and Oregano,
Balsamic Vinegar,
And Olive Oil,
Fresh leaves,
I dab drops of green,
A color of vomit,
But to me it's your voice,
Full of life,
I can see you,
Your tears,
Streaming from your puffy eyes,
The rain,
I finally smear blue,
Covering the empty canvas with it,
A color of sadness,
But to me it's YOU,
Beautiful and Strong.
Dreams of Liberty
I have a dream where I'm free to speak my mind,
Where I'm no longer trapped by my efforts to please society,
Where my emotions aren't trapped in a bottle,
Where being imperfect is accepted,
And I can be free from the chains that keep me grounded,
I fly,
But soon I wake up,
And I fall,
Straight at,
Reality.
