Pink City
Pink
Portrait made ill.
Night
Sent by the sun,
On tarnished roads,
Then Concrete dwelling,
An entrance laughs,
I look toward the pulsing strip,
Cars fade,
Only dancing lights remain.
I reccently had a dream in which I dreamt of going to a pink Las Vegas (or at least that is what my dream envisioned) with a childhood friend who I once had feelings for when she still lived nearby. In my dream I saw her with some other girl, it seemed as if they were in a relationship, when I saw them they were laughing against a golden wall. We were all in Golden Hotel staying together, I believe her mother was there as well. I tried my best to expand this world as much as possible and describe a fleeing love. I would have made it longer but I believe it says just about everything in these thirty words, thanks for reading.
A Night Away
Pink to blue
Voices fade,
Black then white
Neon signs blush,
Splashing steps,
Swinging doors,
Red
Yellow
Green
Golden flakes dazzle
Dull air- her words immaculate,
Marble tabletop,
Eggshell ceramic plates,
Melting strawberry shakes,
Midnight steps our way.
Another poem based on one of my dreams on a Pink City. I have used this world as a means of exploring varying aspects of love. I hope I have made the world clear enough to visualize, if not I will certainly do better.
