"I don't get it, why do you even try. This is pure trash."

"Shut up will you! It took me all week to get to this level!"

"Luke! It's just a dating game, its not real."

"Oh really, coming from the girl who's obsessed with Ouran High School, Host Club."

"Leave my boys alone, alright!"

My brother Luke is the biggest nerd that I know. He may be an adult, but he still acts like a kid. During the summer, Luke hates to see me doing nothing but stay in my room. So, he lets me stay in his house in the summer, he even gave me a bedroom of my own. The reason I don't stay with my parents is because they are divorced, it has been like that since I was born. My mom loved my dad, but she didn't want any kids when they got married, but then Luke and I came into the picture. Dad said she drastically changed when Luke and I were born, she got more angry and was never at home. Dad was done with her, so they got divorced. Luke was worried that I thought it was my fault that our parents are not together and I know it's not, it's her fault. Luke blames her as well but he plays shooter games to get his anger out; I do the same thing.

"Alright, since you think it's easy why don't you try it" Luke said in frustration.

"Sure, why not. Watch and learn my dear brother."

I grabbed the controller and started the game. On the screen was a cartoon girl crying about her school life and three choices; to walk away, kiss her, or hug her.

"Dude, why did you choose kiss! It's too soon, she'll now probably hate me now!" Luke screamed in panic.

"Well if the antagonist likes her so much then go in for the kill, so kiss was your best bet."

"The way your supposed to win a girls over is make it seem like you’re their best friend, then after a few years-"

Luke turned to the screen and saw the words "true ending" and played the special ending.

"If you kept on doing that, she will probably think of you only as a friend, then it would be a game over for you."

When I finished explaining, Luke was pissed and had his game face on.

"Well then if you think your so much of an expert then how about a challenge."

"Sounds interesting, what's the challenge?" Luke went into his hoodie to get his phone.

"There is a game called Solaria that recently came out. In the game, you only have one life and if you die in the game you can't log in anymore."

I heard about Solaria in WeTube news. It's so far the most downloaded game now, and is almost always sold out at stores.

"I accept your challenge, but I don't have the game." I said sarcastically .

Luke gets up from his seat and goes to his room. After a few minutes, Luke comes back with two copies of Solaria in his hands.

"My friend's dad was a developer for the game, so he gave me two copies for both of us." Luke explained to me.

"What friend gave you the game?"

"Ren of course. You know my best friend, the one that's at your high school, the one with white hair."

"Oh, I remember now for a minute there I thought you made some new friends from going outside. Man, that would be funny."

Ren Waywood is a senior at my high school. Luke met Ren when he was a sophomore and Ren was a freshman, but I didn't really meet him until he was a junior. That might sound a bit confusing so let me try explaining like this, Ren is two years older then me while my brother is three years older then me. Anyways, back to the story.

"When you log in, lets find each other then meet up with Ren. He will teach us the basics of the game."

Luke handed me the game and walked to his room, then locked the door. I don’t see what's wrong with the challenge, all you have to do is live the longest, and that sounds easy.

I turned off the dating game and headed to my room, then locked the door. There was nothing special with my bedroom. It had a bed, a closet, a nightstand, a desk with my computer, and book self with video games and books. I also had a big window and yellow paint on the walls. Solaria wasn't a computer game it was a VCR game. I turned on the VCR sense gear and put it on my head. While normal VCR gear has you walk around and use your arms and legs IRL (in real life), but the sense gear lets your head move your character from your point of view. So you can lay on your bed without any problems. I looked around my room one last time and then put on the sense gear.

"Welcome to Solaria, the land of gods, warriors, and magic. Your character will look like you, so no need for customizing. But in this world there are different creatures that have a different purpose. So, will you be holding a sword, staff, have wings, or be the creature of the night. The choice will effect your future, choose wisely."

"I choose a staff." I answered

"You choose the gift of magic. Would you like to be a healer, witch, or a sorcerer?"

"I'm going to go with witch, it seems more fun."

"You choose witch; your magic will be the night sky and darkness. And with being a witch you can summon a familiar. You can't summon it now, but it will come when your ready. Now stand still for in game clothing."

A flash of white light blinded me for a second then it said I was wearing a black tank top, purple sweater with a hood and short sleeves, grey ripped pants, and black boots.

"Now that you have in game clothing, here is your lunar staff."

The staff was tall, made out of brown wood with a blue ribbon like thing wrapped around it and the top looked like a dream catcher, but the string was shaped as a star with a crescent moon charm in the middle. Off of it were strings with stars at the ends.

"Now you are ready to enter the world of Solaria. It's up to you if you side with good or evil. May the Celestar God bring you another bright day."

I turned around and saw a white church door behind me. When I opened the door, there was a village on the other side. I went through the door continued walking, the door closed, but now a church building was attached to it. I looked around trying to find Luke, but there were too many players.

"Luna! Luna! Over here!" Luke yelled, walking toward me.

Luke had a long black coat (something a pirate would wear), a white button up shirt, black pants, and white boots. He also had a reaper staff in his hands.

"You chose a witch like always, so predictable."

"Same to you, reaper of souls. You chose sorcerer and got the magic of the dead; so original."

"Come on we need to get to the city entrance, that's were Ren is." Luke explained to me.

As we walked I noticed some things about the village. There were parties of players glaring at each other, merchants selling weapons, power ups, and food. There were even some home buildings for sale.

"This village is a main place to target newbies, just look at that party over there." Luke warned me.

He was right, the other players weren't looking at each other they were looking at us. Hopefully, no one is planning to kill us already. The city entrance wasn't that far from the starting spawn. As we got closer to the entrance I saw a boy leaning against a wall. He had a black tank top, blue jeans, black and white sneakers, a huge sword on his back, and a arm bracelet with the same star like the ones on my staff.

'Looks like you guys logged in alright. Nice choice on getting magics, it’s a good skill to have and if your something outside of magics then it takes forever to learn." Ren said.

"Thanks again for the game copies dude. By the way, what class did you choose?" Questioned Luke.

"I'm a shadow knight, in the outside I'm a knight in shining armor, but in the inside a demon lives."

When Ren said that I couldn't stop laughing. He sounded like he was trying to woo a lady like in a drama or anime.

"Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! I'm sorry, but what did you just say? It just sounds like you’re the prince or have a crowd of girls around you."

"Oh well, it was worth a shot. Thanks for laughing Luna." Ren said while laughing.

"Come on Ren, lets go! You said you'll teach us how to fight. Come on!" Luke said running towards a herd of wild pigs.

"He acts more like a child than a adult."

"Very true, you should see him at home." I agreed. We both laughed and tried to keep up with Luke.

"Okay, since you both have magic as attack and defense you need to know these two spells. Aria as attack and Dena for defense, easy right now you try.'

Luke looked at me thinking that I would volunteer to go first. Then he had to make these words come out of his mouth. "Ladies first," I hate him so much.

"Fine then my DEAR brother; let me show you how it's done." I said in a sarcastic tone.

I walked toworded one of the wild pigs, closed my eyes, and hoped I wouldn't fall.

"Okay, celeste Aria!" And a storm of stars attacked the pigs. It managed to kill half of them, but the others were mad to see their friends die, and came running towards me.

"Shit! Shit! Shit! Ren help me!"

"Say 'Dena' it will create a shield for you."

When I got a far enough distance I stabbed my staff to the ground.

"Moons Dena bring me shelter."

Then appeared a dark-blue colored sphere protecting me. When the pigs tried to hurt me they injured themselves and walked away.

"Great job Luna with a little more practice you will be a pro."

"Come on I can do it way better then her, watch me." Luke said being hot-headed like always.

"There he goes acting like a kid again." I said

"Well at least he can put on a good show."

And that was how we spent our first day together fighting pigs, running away from them and laughing at each other being stupid.

"Wow you guys are quick learners, for most people it takes a few days to understand the basic. But you're already pros at combat."

"Now the challenge can finally start." I said with excitement.

"Okay what's this challenge you and Luna are doing anyway." Ren asked

"We're trying to see who can live the longest in the game."

"Sounds fun, I would join but I don't like to play with bets. Anyway, it's getting late we better log off now."

"Wait how go we log off?" I asked

"You just lift your left arm and mover your hand to the right and the menu will show up with the log off button." Ren explained to Luke and I.

I did what he said but I didn’t see a log off button.

"Don’t see the log-off button Ren, where is it?"

"Yo dude I don’t see it either."

"That’s weird. There has to be a glitch in the game or we're really close to a spawn point."

Then I noticed loud noises of people in the village.

"Guys, look! There seems to be a mob of people in the village."

"Must be players with the same problem. Lets go check it out." Ren said

We all ran from the fields towards the center of the village, the log-in spawn. Players were fighting each other while others were trying to open the church doors. This was bad, very bad. Everyone was going crazy, some ven cried. But it only got worse. The sky turned from a sunset orange-pink to a blood red, then a hologram of a man in a black cloak appeared.

"Hello players, you may be wandering why the log-off button is gone from the main menu. In this game you only have one life and here is the reason why. If you die in the game, you die in real life. If you don't believe me then I will provide a demenstration."

A second hologram appeared next to the cloaked man. It was a boy in his room layingf on his bed with his sense gear on. The same boy saw and started to run away from the crowd, when he thought he was safe a strike of lightning hit him and died. When we looked at the hologram again, he was screaming for his life, asking for help then he died and blood was dripping off his head.

"Do you believe me now? If you still think its not real then test it out yourself then you end up the same way as he did. If you don’t want to end up like him then try to locate me in the boss level and kill me. If you are able to do that then all the surviving players will return back to reality safely. Let's see who will die next shall we."

Then everything went back to normal as if none of that happened.

"Luke what are we going to do? What if dad starts to worry about us or tries to take the sense gear off of us."

"That won't happen because no one is going to take it off." Luke explained

"The person, and yes I mean person, who is behind all of this would have made sure that the world knows what's going on and to make sure no one takes the gear off of our heads." Ren added

So that's what started the whole journey, about 40,000 people stuck in a life or death game wondering if we will ever see the outside world ever again.

Chapter 2:

It's been two weeks since log-in day when we found out we couldn’t log-off from solaria, since then Luke, Ren, and I became a party and got enough money to buy a home in the village. So far about 5,000 players died from being reckless on quest, were killed by a fellow player, or killed themselves. Recently, Luke has been going somewhere in the middle of the night alone.

"Ren, do you have any idea where Luke goes at night by himself."

"Sorry, I can't tell you because I don't know my self."

Every night I would stay up hoping that he would come back home safely with his warm, welcoming smile. But I was done waiting for him to come home, so that night I followed him to come home. So that night I followed him to where ever the hell the place was.

"Luna, what do you think your doing? You know its dangerous to be away from the home safe point at night, you could have been killed."

"Come on, don’t you want to know where Luke goes at night."

"Alright, but I'm coming with you. If something happened to you and I wasn't there then I would be dead too."

After a while, Luke entered a building from the military generals.

"Well nice to see you again Mr. Silvermoon."

"Please, just call me Luke."

"Well then Luke, have you reconsidered the offering."

Ren and I looked at each other wondering what the offering could've possibly been.

"I thought it over and yes, I except your offer."

"Well than Luke Silvermoon you are now a member of the front lines in the solarian army."

Those words were what started to break my world.

"We will come to get you tomorrow, please be prepared for the journey."

When Luke came waling through the door, I ran in front of him yelling "Why Luke! Why didn’t you tell me you were joining the army! Why did you keep it a secret!"

"Luna. Ren. Go back home now!"

"Not until you tell me why your keeping this a secret!"

Luke managed to get me and Ren home then told me to go to my room. Ren told him everything about me being worried and sneaking out. Then he walked into my room sitting behind my bed.

"I was going to tell you, but I didn’t think it would happen so fast."

"How long have you been training with General Cara?"

"A week ago, she said I had a high enough level to help heal and defend in battle."

"But why are you leaving me. Why you out of all people."

"Luna, there are men and women fighting for their lives for others. If there is any chance I can make a difference to bring you home I will, even if it puts my life on the line."

I leaned in for a hug and cried on his shoulder.

"I don’t want to lose you."

"Don’t worry you won't; I promise." Luke said as he grabbed me closer to assure everything would be okay."

The next day came and Luke had to go.

"I promise I will come back soon. Here, take this." Luke went into his pocket and grabbed a necklace with a cresent moon amulet charm. Then he got his necklace of a reaper staff out of his shirt.

"If you miss me, look at this to remind you that I'll never leave you."

As I looked closely at the cresent moon and his reaper I noticed that in each had our birthstone. He had my diamond while I had his ruby.

"Ren you better protect her, you hear me. If I hear shit about you, I will whoop your ass."

"Don’t worry, she'll be okay." Ren said while putting his hand on my shoulder.

"I have to go now, I'll be home soon." Luke put his items in his inventory space them walked through the portal. That was the last time I saw him.

Almost three weeks later General Cara comes to the house and tells us that Luke died in a recent battle. They where in a dungeon and they where ambushed by fallen angels. He risked his life to save a fellow solider and the general. She said Luke kept on saying "Sorry Luna. Sorry Luna" over and over quietly to himself on his last dying words. My world that was broken was now shattered.

Now Ren and I are on a hill with a purple tree where Luke's grave is placed.

"You said you would come back, so come on. Please don’t leave me."

"I'm sorry, Luna. He's gone you know the rule."

I kneeled down to the ground still having a little bit of hope.

"Please. Please come back to me big brother."

Then a gleaming ball of light appeared on top of the grave stone. From the light was a black cat with two tails was in front of me.

"Hello master I am your familiar. From the orders of Luke Silvermoon, I am here to assist you with your magic and be your 'friend'."

Luke found a familiar for me; wait how did he do it and when?

"How do you know my brother?"

"He saved me from being eaten by a demon, so I owed him my life and he said that a girl with purple eyes and a moon necklace would be my new master.

"so you did meet him. What's your name?"

"I don’t have one miss, familiars aren't allowed names until they found their master."

"Then I'll call you Lucifer."

Ren looked at me funny and said "Why did you name it that?"

"That's Luke's full name but he mainly uses it in games."

Ren puts his hand on my shoulder and I get up from the ground.

"Come on Lucifer, let's go home."

Luke; he wall I could think about during those 2 miserable months. Ren tried to help by getting me out of the house and take a quest or two, but I was never in the mood. After everything that's happened in my life I really did feel alone, I had no body.

"That's it I'm taking you out."

"Ren, what are you talking about."

"Look, all you've been done is mope around your room and think that your life is over."

"You just don’t understand, Ren."

"He was my best friend more like a brother and I miss him. But at least I can do is watch over his cute little sister like he asked."

"Wait you think I'm cute."

"No! Wait yes! I mean...um... just forget it, I'm taking you out already, come on."

Ren grabbed my hand, and finally got me out of the house. I think that was the first time I've seen Ren stutter like that; he's never like that. As I was thinking about it, Ren somehow brought me to the warrior guild without me knowing.

"All we have to do is go in, get a quest, and get supplies. You think you can last that long outside?"

"Ya, ya alright. Can you stop acting like a parent already, its really annoying." I said to Ren.

When we opened the doors then saw General Cara raging and throwing people out of the window.

"Please ma'am, I'm sure if I get a messenger or something I could get them, but stop hurting innocent players please." Guildmaster asked.

"Shut up Conner! I have no time for waiting, I need to see them now!"

The Guildmaster looked around and then he laid his eyes on Ren and I.

"See lass, they did come. Do what you need to do and get out."

General Cara came walking towards us in her white, red, and yellow armor.

"You two, follow me to the back!"

Ren and I didn’t want to pick a fight, especially against a military general, so we followed her. We walked to the back near the storage room. General Cara turned to us with a desperate look on her face.

"I'm sorry to take you away from getting a new quest but this is an emergency. The numbers of us just keeps in getting smaller and smaller. The other leaders and I have been talking, not a single race can defeat a boss even if we have healers, attacker, and defenses. But if we have a group of the strongest warrior from each race we could have a more likely chance on escaping solaria and return back home."

I thought for a moment and remembered what Luke's reason was and now understood why he joined. As I was about to speak Ren interrupted me.

"No, sorry, but we have to refuse." 

I thought Ren would be on board with this idea but then he is still trying to keep his promise to Luke by keeping me safe. But Ren can't protect me forever; I hate the fact that if we are still stuck in the game that there is somebody waiting for all of us. I don't want any more people going through what I had to go through.

"I'll do it, just tell me the place and time, I'll be there."

"Luna!" Ren yelled

"It's in front of the church tomorrow afternoon. And thank you Luna, your brother would be very proud of you." General Cara shook my hand and went on her way back to work. Unlike Cara, Ren was upset with my decision.

"Why the fuck did you just do!?! Why did you agree to that!?!"

"Well I'm sorry if I want to protect others and don’t want to see anyone else cry."

"But why put your life on the line, why do it for strangers!"

"Because it’s the right thing to do! And Luke would agree with me!"

Ren didn’t argue, he knew that was the reason why Luke joined the front lines and was the same reason he isn't with us today.

"Look, if you don’t want to die then fine, stay but I'm not going to wait any longer to see my dad. He needs me and I don’t want him to suffer any more than he already has." Then I walked out of the back room when I looked back I saw Ren sitting on the ground in silence.

When I got out og the guild a message from General Car appeared in my inbox. It was the names of the players that are in the party that Cara was talking about.

Then as I scrolled through the names it also had the catagories and races. There was no person with the same title. And when I got to the end I found my name.

Lucinda Silvermoon – Lunar celestal witch

Its official, I'm now a part of a new party. would be happy that I'm making a difference, but the way that Ren got mad at me, made me second guess my decision.

To clear my head, I walked to the park that was near the center of town. There was a big water fountain in the middle with a mermaid statue on top. And around it was trees, flowers, and some benches to sit. There where mainly nature fairies taking care of the flowers.

"Hey, do you mind if I sit here,"

I looked up to see a girl with long, brown hair, wearing a white tank top, blue jeans with patches, black combat boots and a red and black flannel tied around her waist. She also had a black ribbon tied on each arm and a chain on her pants with a charm of a door on the end.

"Sure go on ahead."

She sits down next to me and stares at my necklace.

"Nice amulet, you must be Lucinda. My name is Leia the beast tamer."

"It's Luna and how do you know it was me?"

"General Cara gave a message to the rest of us that you're joining and so is a friend of your."

"Well I'm not sure if he will be joining."

Leia looked at me with a concerned look.

"What do you mean? Did something happen to both of you?"

"He didn’t want me to join because he doesn't want me to be killed he's worried I would end up like my brother."

"Oh, I'm so sorry about your brother."

"it's alright. Ugh, sorry I'm ranting. I don’t even know you and I'm telling you my life story."

Leia patted my shoulder and said "It's okay, talking about it makes people feel better. Look, maybe before you leave he will realize that your going to have to grow up and start doing things on your own. And make decisions that don't please everyone."

I looked at the sky and realized that it's getting darker.

"I'm sorry; I have to go home now. Thanks for talking with me."

"it's alright; hope everything resolves in the end. See you tomorrow."

We waved each other goodbye and ran home. Leia is right; I'm growing up and I have to make my own choices. I know Ren wants to protect me but I have my own life to live and he does too.

When I got home I found Ren waiting for me on the staircase, he still looked upset. I closed the door behind me and stood against it. After a few seconds of silence, Ren looked up and stared into my eyes.

"Look, I'm sorry for being mad. I just didn't want to make Luke's promise go down the drain. The least I could do for him is protect his kid sister."

I walked towards him and sat ion the staircase.

"I understand but we can't just let others die. There are people waiting for us and I don't want to wait anymore."

"I promise we will go home. I'll make sure." I said leaning on his shoulder

"You can go but I'm going with you. Your still having trouble with your aiming, you can never hit a target."

We both laughed and made more clever comments about each other. Leaning on his shoulder made feel safe, I never wanted to leave that moment. 

I'm so glad that Ren forgave me, but ever since that night I fell weird around, him like my stomach had butterflies flying around and when I'm thinking about him my face gets warmer. It's weird but luckily he hasn't noticed.

The next morning came and Ren and I put all of our necessary items in our inventories like health potions, money, weapons, clothes with skill jumps, and some food. We didn’t take everything because we could still return home when we had some down time. I looked at the house one last time and we left to the church where General Cara told us to meet her. When we got to the church we saw General Cara and Leia there waiting for us.

"Hey, good to see you Luna; I'm glad you’re here. And is this the friend you told me about, is he your boyfriend?" Leia said

"No! No! It's not like that, he's just a friend! That's all!"

Leia laughs and said "I was just messing with you. You're so cute when you're embarrassed.

I lowered my head trying to pretend the whole conversation wasn't real. Leia just kept on laughing and General Cara as well.

"Well we should be going now. The others are waiting." General Cara said.

General Cara opened the portal and went through without a word.

"Your going to love the others, they're so amazing. See you on the other side." Leia said before she went through the portal yelling 'YAY!!!'

"Are you sure you want to do this ?" Ren asked being concerned.

"Well there's no going back now."

Ren grabs my hand and we both go through the portal not knowing what would be on the other side.

The sun shined right into my eyes, with the smell of pine cones in the air. The sight of tall pine trees and dark green grass made the area seem deserted. There was a trial of pebbles and stones leading to a rundown building.

"Come on, we don’t have all day." General Cara said with a serious tone.

As we walked, Leia told us about the other and stories they had together and what not to do.

"Leia, I have a question; why is the party called 'the legends'." Ren asked.

"Ya, I was wondering that too."

"oh an idiot in the party thought of the name. We all said no but he wouldn't listen. Once you see him you'll agree that he's a dumb ass."

"Well he sounds interesting. Hey Ren I think we found your long lost twin."

Leia laughed while Ren rolled his eyes. General Cara didn't say a word; it was like she was lost in her own trail of thoughts.

"Oh ya, don't tell Maria that you’re a witch and shadow knight." Leia warned

"Why?"

"She had a bad history with them. And has a whole theory about them as the real villains of the game."

"But she will find out any way when we're in battle, also her staff and my neck markings are a dead give away." Ren stated

Leia opened her menu and went into her inventory. On her hand was a black scarf and handed it to Ren.

"Here use this. There are some areas in Solaria that wouldn't welcome your kind."

Ren grabbed the scarf and wrapped it around his neck.

As we walked on the trail there was a pond with a pixie colony and little pixie villages surrounding it. When we got closer to the building, you could see more details to it. There were some pink trees that made the building pop out. Over grown plants coming from the roof top. The building didn't look rundown or broken, it used to looked abandoned. Like someone used it before , but then forgot about it.

"Welcome to your new home, I have leaders to talk to so Leia will show you around. If you have any problems message me or find me on the top floor."

Some guards that were in front of the entrance, opened the door and followed her inside.

"Well I guess I'll show you the chill room. Everyone is probably there right now."

The inside of the building was way nicer than the outside. With tiled floors and wall papered walls. The windows had red silk curtains and the walls had some paintings of Solaria's history. There were many doors and hallways in every corner, so I could see myself getting lost very often.

"So this is the chill room, where we mainly come to eat food, train, and ,well, chill."

The room was as big as 4 high school classrooms. It had everything: kitchen, training area, a library, a sitting area, and a council area with a map of the terrain of Solaria.

In the room, there was a fairy in the library reading a book, she had long, wavy brown hair almost reaching her ankles. She also had pink and purple streaks in her hair. Her wings were the same color as the streaks on her hair. She also had a purple short-sleeved jacket and a yellow shirt with a black sailor collar. She had teal jeans and violet flats. She didn’t seem interested with the world around her as her eyes were glued to the book.

"That's Selena the fairy. Most of her kind would go to find a warrior ro be their healer but she rather stay inside of the safe point and read for the rest of her life. The fairy queen volunteered to the idea because of her intelligence and so she doesn't start trouble with the other fairies. Hey Selena! Say hi to the newbies!"

"Shhh!" She said with anger "I'm trying to read. Now leave me alone." Then returned back to her book.

"She'll warm up to you, just takes some time." Leia said walking me and Ren towards the training area.

The training area was on the opposite e of the room form the little library. There was a few punching bags and treadmills set up for leveling up your fighting skills. There was a girl with red orange, wavy hair fighting one of the punching bags and a boy with brown hair was standing next to her. The boy has, and black boots. He also had a red cape and light blue gloves and on his head were wolf ears the same color as his hair. The girl had her hair pulled but revealing her dangling earring with a paw print and her sea blue eyes. She had a black cropped top also revealing a dream catcher marking , blue jeans, and black n' grey boots.

"Luna and Ren meet Beth and Pawblo. Guys these are the newbies."

"You mean the witch and the shadow knight." Pawblo asked.

"Yup the one and only."

"At least we're not the only cursed creatures here anymore. The names Pawblo, Pawblo the shape shifter." He said while shaking my hand.

"I'm Luna and this is Ren. What do you mean by cursed creatures?" I asked

"Well in the general game there are two sides of races. In the light there are the ones who are blessed like fairies, white knights, sorcerers, angels, and etc. And the dark are the ones who are cursed like monsters, shape shifters, beast tamers, witches, shadow knights, and stuff like that. And General Cara told us about your race so you fall under the dark side."

"I understand, but why do they call us cursed?"

Beth punches the punching bag one more time and says "Because the angels, the leaders of the light, think that witches cursed the innocent to become monsters or have humans with dark magic. Then have the shadow knights make sure their lives are a living hell. Most people believe but I think the whole story is bullshit."

Ren touched the scarf and said "So that's why you want us to stay on this Maria girl's good side? So no shit happens between us."

"Yup, Maria is very hard headed but with some time she'll have a new view on you two. She did that for us and she can at least have some what of a decent conversation with us."

I turned to the direction were the library was and saw Selena still reading.

"so Maria thought of you as blessed, just like her."

Selena looked up from her book "No, at first she thought I was cursed trying to be a fairy. She thought I was reading all these books planning to massacre all of the fairy race."

"Wow, maybe she's the most cursed out of all of us.'

Everyone laughed, agreeing with me. I even saw Selena smile as she returned to her book.

"Yup, you're going to fit in just fine." Beth said punching my back.

"So where's Jace and Ryder?" Leia asked Beth

"Oh they were acting like idiots in the shopping district and got into a fight with a few gangs. Maria heard about it and is probably kicking their asses."

"Ha, that sounds like them; at least they have this guy they can try to break." Leia said pointing at Ren.

Selena dropped her book all of a sudden as if something bothered here.

"I sense a dark aura coming this way."

The room was dead silent, everyone looked at each other as if they could read each other's minds. Then the next thing I knew Beth and Pawblo grabbed mine and Ren's arms, hiding us inside a closet.

"Stay there until we say it's safe. Trust me we're saving your lives right now." Leia said before closing the closet door.

"well I guess we're stuck in here for a while. This Maria must be a she-devil if they are putting us in a closet like this."

"Ya...right." I said quietly in a squeaky voice. Just hear me out, I still don't know Ren that well and he barley knows anything about me. So being close to him in a small area is very awkward. I could hear my heart beating faster and my face warming up.

"You have some nerve to go around picking fights with other players. We are supposed to be humanities last hope not their most wanted ass holes!" A girl's voice screamed.

"Ryder dragged me into this. He needed to get more arrows but ended up hitting on every girl involved with the gangs."

"Shut up Jace! They were so cute how could I not start a friendly conversation with them."

"Ya, a friendly conversation involving you complimenting their butts."

"Shut up! And besides before we left, I told Selena where we were going."

"Selena, what the fuck! Why didn't you tell me?"

Ren opened the closet door a little bit to see what was going on. A boy with blue hair and a boy with brown hair were tossed to the ground and a girl with long blonde hair, wearing a yellow-white dress and a red cross on it, and also had pure white angel wings.

"Well Selena, where's your reason? Why didn't you tell me where these idiots went?"

"Doesn't seem like a big deal. You were going to find out anyway. And besides I was reading, I just ignore them entirely." Selena said, returning to her book.

Maria was frustrated and threw a spear at the door of the closet. I gave a little squeak of terror then Ren put his hand over my mouth. When he did his hand was scratched by the spear.

"What's in the closet? Why do I feel blood on my spear."

Leia ran next to her trying to distract her. "You must be tired; why don't you go to your room and take a nap. Don't worry we'll make sure nothing in here is dangerous."

Maria shoved Leia out of the way and stared at the closet. At that moment I didn't know what would of happened. Maria had another spear and threw it at the door again, this time it went through Ren's left arm. Now his hand and arm was dripping with blood, but some how Ren still had the strength to hold me close to him and holding me tight.

"Come on out, I know you're there. My spears are an extension of my magic so if there is blood on it, I could feel it."

Using her magic, Maria made another spear and pointed it towards the door.

"You better come out here before I count to 3 or you won't live to see another day."

"Maria!" Beth yelled "Stop acting crazy are you out of your mind!"

"...1..."

I looked around trying to think on what to do. Should I stay in here, fight against her, or surrender myself.

"...2..."

I looked at Ren watching his health bar sinking lower and lower. I had to think about him, if I don't do something now he could die.

"...3!"

I held my amulet close to my heart and all I could think was to save Ren.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaa!!" 

I opened my eyes wondering if I was dead but instead I hear a girl screaming.

"Get off of me, you freakin' spirit. Where the hell did you come from." Maria was on the ground trying to fight off a feline-demon.

"You are going to have to go through me if you can hurt my mistress and her friend." Wait was that Lucifer.

"Lucifer! That's enough." I said coming out of the closet trying to help Ren out.

'Mistress, I'm so glad that you're safe. I would have come earlier but something was blocking me from coming. Thank you for calling me; don't worry I'm make sure this pigeon doesn't hurt you again."

"It's okay, but thank you for coming. You better go back to the spirit world."

"no can do ma'am. Ren is clearly hurt and not well enough to protect you, so I'll be here for the time being. Also I don't trust you being close to that pigeon."

I pet Lucifer on his head and her transformed back into a normal cat. I never realized how scary he looked until he turned back to normal. His pupils were small to give off an insane look and his teeth about the size as large swords and not to mention that he was around the same size of a bus.

"Alright someone explain to me what's going on and also for your information you dumb cat I'm not a pigeon, I'm an angel!" Maria yelled with frustration.

"you don't seem like it." Lucifer said quietly.

"That's enough all of you, you're acting like a bunch of kids."

By the door was General Cara looking pissed off and disappointed.

"Clearly Maria didn't know anything about this and I now see why you didn't tell her, but keeping people in the dark is never a good idea."

Cara sighed then continued, "This is Luna and Ren, I recruited them so they can give us more man power in the battle field. It also might be a good idea to have a shadow knight and some witch magic around here too."

"She's a what!?!" Maria screamed.

Selena shrunk herself to the size of a pixie and hid in a hole in the wall.

"and where do you think you're going?" General Cara said

"Fuck this shit, I'm out. Have fun with this drama." Then she hid in the hole.

"Why are you letting a witch and a shadow knight come here! Don't you remember all of the deaths they causes. I thought we killed them all, we had to kill all of them. How are you not dead, there were hunters everything!"

General Cara walked next to me then said "She wasn't killed because her brother was fighting in the front lines. They never killed anyone and they are certainly not evil. You may have a thing with them, but not all of them are the same. So get over it already Maria."

Maria stormed out of the room and slammed the door behind her.

"I better watch over mega bitch and make sure she doesn't break anything. Selena help heal Ren then bring him to his new sleeping quarters." Cara said following Maria.

Selena flew out of her hiding spot and grew back to her normal size. "Ryder, Jace can you bring Ren to the infirmary please? I'll meet you there in a bit." Ryder moved his light blue hair out of his face and ran up to Ren's side and Jace waving hi to Leia joined Ryder to bring Ren to the infirmary.

"Um... is it okay if I come with you? He's a family friend so I want to see if he's okay."

"Sure, it's fine with me, follow me." Selena said

As we walked to the infirmary all I could think about was Ren holding me even though he was bleeding and losing his hp fast. That moment just repeated over and over again in my head. I didn't want to lose anybody else, I didn't want to be alone. I didn't want to lose someone special again. Deep down I wished Luke was there to help us and stop Maria from hurting Ren.

"I'm sorry about Maria, she didn't mean to do it."

I looked at Selena not understanding what she meant.

"It's not your fault that she attacked us. She did it out of her own will."

"She never acted like that before towards anyone. She's really nice and a natural leader but she can be stubborn and a hot-head if she doesn't get her way."

I still didn't understand why Maria hated witches, something must of happened if she was willing to kill someone who was even called a witch.

When we got to the infirmary it was pretty much like a nurses office from a school, but instead there were potions and a lab where the medicine would be regularly.

"There is a chair next to the bed. You can sit there if you want. It'll just take a minute to make the healing potion."

Ren was laying on the patients bed asleep like a child after playing outside all day. He looked so peaceful with his angel winged hair scattered everywhere on his pillow case and his gentle, warming eyes closed from the outside world. I felt bad that he got hurt and I just did nothing but stood there like an idiot.

"Why did I just stand there, you could have died because of me." I shed a few tears as I said that. I held Ren's hand squeezing it with all me strength, nit wanting to let go.

"Don't worry mistress, it wasn't your fault."

From the end of the bed was Lucifer trying to cheer me up. "My god, I've completely forgotten about you, I'm sorry. You really shouldn't see me like this."

"Please don't cry, all of this wasn't fault. It was all because of that pigeon, it was her holy magic that didn't let me come faster. She was the reason he got hurt in the first place."

"I know, but all I did was nothing, I just stood there, frozen."

Lucifer put his paw on my hand then said "Well you called me and I was able to save the both of you." He said, trying to comfort me. "Look he's alive and that's all that matters."

I looked towards the bed to watch Ren opening his eyes little by little.

"Luna what happened? When did I get here?"

Without a warning, I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him. He smiled and hugged me back. Lucifer was right, all that matters is that he was alive. Everything happens for a reason right, even Luke's death. I knew I had to let go of him soon, but right now I never want to let go.

"Thank you"

I told Ren everything that happened, even about Maria. Selena came back with the potion and said sorry about Maria. He said it's fine but I could tell he was upset. Selena gave Ren the potion the he fell right back to sleep. She said he'll feel better in the morning, I thanked her then Lucifer and I left. Right outside of the door was Maria leaning against the wall.

"I'm sorry about your friend, I'm really sorry for acting like a dick." She said in a sarcastic tone. I know she only was only apologizing for Ren, but I'm not buying any of her bullshit.

"Next time you mess with anyone of us, you will regret it. You may be an angel, but I can still kick your ass in a matter of minutes." Then I walked away with Lucifer following me from behind.

She can act like a bitch to me all she wants, but I'm not going to let her mess with my family. Even my new brothers and sisters that I just met.

Ren was okay after a few days, he may have took a health potion, but I kept a close eye on him. Maria hasn't been talking to me ever since I came here, she has spoken to Ren a few times but he just ignores her. Who can blame him, she did stab him in the arm.

On the bright side, I made some new friends while being here. Beth is mostly the top dog out of all of us. She ran away from her wolf tribe because of a fallen angel. She ended up entering a human village full of beast tamers and met Leia. Leia hid her for a good amount of time but someone discovered Beth and Leia. They were accused as traitors then were put to death, they are alive today because of Maria. She took them here and they became apart of the group party.

Leia always had a good heart, she always thought of others before herself (that’s why she helped Beth) and she had a strange obsession with pigs. Leia said back in the real world she had a family farm. She loved to be around the farm animals but manly pigs. Even in the game, I see her waking up early in the morning and feed the birds near the woods also some pixies.

Selena on the other hand, is very different compared to Leia and Beth. Selena is more quiet and reserved, she always is reading a book or had a book in her hand. She doesn't talk to many people mainly the guys, but she has opened up to us little by little. I try to talk to her as much as I can. Then I found out we have a lot of common. We have read most of the same books, like some of the same music, and we're both fangirls so we can rant to each other about almost everything. Almost everyone thinks that we're crazy.

Ren also meet some friends as well, even though how much they are different form each other.

Jace is pretty much the high school prince. You know, the guy every girl wants to date, the guy every boy wants to be, perfect at everything and anything. One time when Ren invited me to hangout with the guys and go sword shopping, the entire time a crowd of girls were following us awing over Jace. He doesn’t really mind it, but he mainly doesn't even notice them. Ryder on the other hand took this opportunity to wow some of the girls, so they were met to be.

Ryder is the guy who would flirt with every girl he meets then gets beat-up afterward. Jace and Ryder came from the same school, so of course their friends. Ryder is always trying to make everything a joke even if it ends up as a pun. But Jace is always there to laugh at his cringe worthy jokes.

Pawblo is the youngest one of the group, he is a 8th grader and is the shortest out of all of us, at least now I can finally be taller then someone for once. In the real world, Pawblo was apart of his schools drama club then ended up as one of the leaders. He has some friends in Solaria form his school, but they all are apart of the angel army. So he was a bit of an outsider. But when he cam here, he told me that he finally has a place where he belongs.

Everyone made me feel like I was apart of a new family.

General Cara doesn't come over that often. She always has a meeting with all the leaders and what clues they have maybe to find the final boss. It's already been 6 months and we had the same information as we did when we came here. Already 10,000-15,000 players dead and there were about 40,000 players at the start.

One day, General Cara came back and had something to tell us. Ren and I weren't with the others at the time, we were in town looking for some spellbooks.

"Why do you still wear that black scarf around you neck? You do know that Maria knows who we are right."

"I know," Ren answered "Its really warm and I like it. Also did you hear about the attacks with a few smaller villages? The shadow knights have been said to be behind it and if anyone in the village knew I was one of them then they would burn me at the stake."

"I thought that was a witch thing."

I heard a little ring and checked the chat room

hey its Leia, come back to the safe house now. General Cara is here

And she wants to see all of us. Get here ASAP!!!!!

We're heading back now.

"What's up?"

"Leia wants us to go back to the safe house. General Cara came back and has some news for us."

"then we better hurry up, this is the General we're taking about and she doesn't like to wait around."Ren grabbed my arm and ran back to the safe house.

As we ran, I noticed an alley with two little kids on the ground and a tall book in a black hooded jacket standing up to three adults in army uniforms.

"stop sight seeing, we have to go now or we will never hear the end of it from Maria." Ren pulled my arm one more time and I followed him

Back at the safe house, we ran to the meeting room where everyone was. To our surprise Maria was there, hands on her waist and ready to give us a long annoying lecture.

"where the hell were you too! Do you realize how mad the General is!"

"We were just in town trying to-"

"What, trying to do what! Having a nice get-a-way from everyone or trying to have a successful date with this witch whore."

I glared and quietly growled at that comment.

Ren puts his arm in front of me trying to block me from fighting Maria.

"That's not it, we went to go buy-"

"What! A wedding ring for your girlfriend."

"Will you just shut up and listen to us!" I screamed

Ren puts his hand on my shoulder then said. "We were in town to buy some new spellbooks."

"Ha, liers!"

"No they're telling the truth." Selena spoke up. "I asked Luna to go into town to see if she could get me some new spellbooks then Ren volunteered to join her. So why don't you sit your ass down and fucking chill."

Maria gave me a glare then sat in her seat next to Leia.

"Nice job Selena, I think I'm rubbing off on you now."

Selena smiled and showed me that she saved two seats for me and Ren.

The door opened and standing there was General Cara.

"Good, everyone is here. So now we start the meeting. Computer open the map of Solaria."

From the table was a projection of the Solaria country.

"Now you all heard about the recent attacks. We have sources pointing towards that the head of the attacks is the Dark King."

"Wait, are you saying the Dark King could be the boss level." Beth asked.

"Possibly but we're not 100% sure of it. All of the stories that the witnesses told us all traces back to this area."

The map zooms in closer to an area with a tall white castle.

"That's the Angel Kingdom, all of the problems are coming from there." Maria said standing up from her seat.

"Please sit down Maria."

She sat back down.

"Now as I was saying gangs, criminals, and leaders all have the Dark King as their main alli."

"Great." Said Ryder putting his feet on the table. "All we have to do is find the source then kill it, there easy."

General Cara walked towards Ryder. "Let me finish hot-shot." Smacking him in the head.

"But that's not the only thing we have to worry about."

Now there was a projection of a picture of a man with blue eyes and lightbrown/blonde hair with a gold crown on his head.

"There have been some leaders sent from the Dark King have been sending death warnings and attempted assassinations to the king of the angels. On Christmas eve he is planning to have a ball to honor a peace treaty with the other territory leaders. All of the players in their court and soldiers will be there and would make a great place for eliminating them."

"Wait isn't Christmas a month away how are we supposed to do all of that with little time." Pawblo asked.

General Cara took a deep breath then said "Here is what we'll do Maria and Ren, I need you to go around the town and try to track down the source of the attacks and why

they are in the kingdom. Selena you will be getting more information about the king and the kingdom. The rest of you need to protect the king and explore the castle to see if there is any reason why anyone would be there."

Everyone turned to Maria who was glaring at Ren. I could hear Ren whispering how much he is regretting life at that moment.

"We'll leave in two days see you then." She said as she walked through the door.

We all got up from our seats and exited the room.

Maria walked up to Ren then said "Listen here shadow knight, you are going to listen to me on this mission and we will do it my way! Got it!"

Ren nodded and she walked away.

"What did I do to deserve this. I'm a person right, I help my friends. Why god, why you do this to me."

I laughed at Ren then we walked back to town and looked at the shops.

The day came and it was time for us to leave. General Cara told us all to meet at the transport area, the same place we were when we went through the church doors months ago. It seems like Ren and I just got here, not that much has changed. We were still ourselves just like before but now we're not so alone.

I got to the transport area a bit earlier than the others. So to escape the great depths of boredom I grabbed a stick and drew in the mud.

"That's a nice drawling, you was always drawing something when ever I came over to hangout with Luke."

I looked up to see that Ren was standing in front of me with his huge sword in his hand.

"You were so quiet back then. You wouldn't even say a word when we even screamed like bloody murder."

I laughed "Ya, I remember that you guys were so loud. Also remember when you asked me to draw you, man you were such a dork."

Ren sat on the ground then posed. "Draw me like one of your French girls."

We both laughed. It felt good to laugh like that for once, to just be carefree.

Ren looked straight into my eyes with a look I never seen before.

"I never realized how beautiful your eyes are, no one I ever met has purple eyes."

"Well Luke had Purple eyes too, so I'm not the only one."

Ren gets closer to me.

"Ya, I know but yours is different like there is more passion or fire in them."

I looked away with a little smile. Ren got closer than sat next to me. I looked at him, he looked at me, we didn't look away just as he gets even more closer to me.

"What the HELL do you think your doing, Romeo!"

Selena was standing in front of us death glaring Ren.

She grabbed my arm and made me stand next to her. "What the hell were you trying to do!"

"Nothing I swear."

"Ya right, you not even worthy for an angel like Luna. So don't have any ideas or you will have to go through me."

I just lowered my head trying to hide my face getting red.

'Hey what's going on over there. Don't you dare try to kill each other all ready. We're not even in angel territory yet." We see Leia and the others walking up the trail with Maria and General Cara close behind.

"Is everyone ready." General Cara asked.

Everyone looked at each other then gave a nod.

General Cara pulled out a key then put it inside a tree then a white door appeared out of the tree.

"Um... well ladies first, right." Ryder said trying to be a gentleman.

Beth rolled her eyes then went through the door with Leia behind her.

"You heard him, ladies first." I said while pushing Ren through the door.

Ren rolled his eyes and went through the door, then I did the same following him.

Everything was bright in the angel kingdom. The buildings were white, yellow, orange, and red. The sun was shining extra bright upon the kingdom, it gave off a strong feeling of heaven for the kingdom. We exited out of a church like the one in the original village but this one was three times the size.

"Wow this place is made for the rich."

"Beth don't be rude." Leia scolded Beth.

"But look at this place how can you not agree with me."

The kingdom had a bit of a Victorian England look to everything and there were the kings knights everywhere. Not to mention everyone were wearing the most expensive clothing and armor in the game.

Jace and Ryder came through the church doors.

"Jesus Christ! This place is huge and look at everyone. Damn this place must be for the wealthy." Ryder yelled loudly while Jace just kept on shaking his head no.

"Ya thanks for the update, all knowing Ryder." Jace said sarcastically.

Then finally Maria and General Cara came.

"Everyone welcome to my home." Maria said with excitement. "We have to just wait a little bit longer for some-" she turned her head then continued "Oh! There he is, Kenmer! Kenmer over here!"

Running towards us was a boy with red messy hair with brown goggles on his head. He had a orange jacket over a red shirt, light blue jeans, and black n' white running shoes. He also had a brown messenger bag on him.

"Everyone, this is Kenmer Scarlet, the kings inventor and scientist. Kenmer, this is everyone."

Kenmer smiled and waved hi to us quietly, he stopped then stared towards Selena. Selena looked away blushing.

"You must be Selena." Kenmer said walking towards her "I'm Kenmer, I heard your going to need some help finding more research about the Angel Kingdom. If you want I can help you, not that I'm making you ask me...i....um... if you need help find me in my workshop." He turned away and blushed as well.

"umm...sure...thanks." Selena said quietly.

"Well I think we should get going now the king is not a very patient person. Mr. Scarlet would you please bring us to the king's castle."

"Oh! Right I forgot a minute there the reason why I even came here."

Selena laughed a little.

Maria grabbed Kenmer's arm and lead us to the castle. While everyone followed them, Selena had no idea where she was walking into.

"Hey Selena what's wrong? Your not acting like yourself today." I asked

"That boy, the way he looked at me . No one has ever looked at me like that before and he made me feel weird inside. Like butterflies swarming in my stomach and my heart wouldn't not beating. Hey why are you looking at me like that!"

"Somebody is in love."

"Don't be rediculous, I just met the boy and I'm a women of science and literature."

"Sure you are." I said teasing her.

Now Selena was blushing more than before.

As we walked towards the castle we pasted the main square of the town then something caught my attention. There was a younger player getting bullied by some adults and a random player standing up for the kid. It was the same boy I saw in the allies a few days ago but this time he had his hood down. Now I could see his green eyes staring down at the bullies while a little breeze blew against his hair which was black at the roots but then faded into brown towards the end.

"Now who's the one that has their head in the clouds. Who are you staring at anyway?"

"That boy with the green sword and the black jacket with the green lining," I answered.

"Who is he? Another one of your friends I guess?" Selena asked

"No, I just saw him in the village a few days ago pretty much doing the same thing but for another kid."

"Wow so your into the heroic types...hm. I guess Ren has some competition now."

"W-What?"

"Oh nothing. nothing at all." She said with a mischevious giggle.

I turned to the boy then he looked at me back. Something about him felt different like some what of the same different I feel for Ren. He gave me a smile and I smiled back then I walked away, he kept his eyes on me as I left.

The castle was white with stain glass windows. The entrance of the castle had angel statues and quotes from the "Holy Bible". Waiting outside of the castle were players dressed in white armor with a yellow cross on the chest. When they saw us walking up to the castle, they rose up their weapons as a defense.

Kenmer walked in front of us then said "Lower your weapons, this is General Cara and her party. The king invited them to the castle."

The guards lowered their weapons then one of them said "Alright nerd go on a head." All of the guards started to laugh. Selena was about to comfort him but Maria beat her to him. Maria gave him a little hug then led him inside, we all followed right behind them.

"Wow that was such a great insult." I said sarcasticly

"Ya." Ren agreed "tecniclly everyone in the game is a geek or a nerd."

I giggled a little bit.

The inside of the castle was as nice as the outside. The floor was a marble white with a red rug on top of it. On the walls were paintings of angels giving miraculs and demons being vanquished to the darkness. There was also arches windows with golden curtains. Kenmer leads us to the ballroom of the castle, if you watched any disney movie then you can have a general idea on what it looks like.

In the ballroom was the king ordering servants left and right what to do. The king had white angel wings with some brown feathers on the top. He wore a robe a king would wear, had a cross necklace, fancy dress pants with some embrodery on it and some black sunday shoes. His crown was siting on his curly blonde head.

"Welcome! Welcome, to the kingdom of angels." With his angel wings he flew from the balcony to the ground and stood in front of us.

"General Cara your as lovely like always."

"Thank you, you look well too, alive thankfully."

"So are these the players you sent for this quest."

"Yes, they promised not bother you and the party preperations but will help in any way they possibly can."

The king looked at us then faced General Cara.

"Which ones the witch and the shadow knight."

General Cara looked at Ren and I then said "The witch is Luna and the Shadow Knight is Ren."

He looked closer at me but mainly stared at my eyes.

"You were right Cara, she does look like him. A split image of him." He stepped back and stood next to General Cara.

"I'm Elliot, Leader of the angels. General Cara may have already told you that there are creatures or things that have tried to kill me and other leaders. After everything that has happened, I wanted to try to lift everyone's spirits and have a Christmas ball but because of these assanation attempts, we don't want anyone to be worried or killed during the event."

King Elliot looked at General Cara then said, "I leave this in your hands Cara. Now I must go and make the arranglements for bedrooms. If you need anything just ask."

"Excuse me, King Elliot." Selena asked, "I was wondering where the castle library is."

"Kenmer show the fairy where the library is."

"Y-Ye-Yes sir, right away."

The king expanded his wings then flew back to the balcony and went through a door.

"Here Miss. Leon I'll show you to the library."

"You can call me Selena you know."

Kenmer blushed then walked towards a hallway door with Selena right behind him.

"Alright everyone." General Cara said "Ren and Maria go into town and try to find any information of the boss and the where the assasans could be hiding. And the rest will question the servants and try to find any possible way someone could come into the castle without being seen. Everyone has their jobs so go, but don't break anything."

Maria grabbed Ren by his arm and walked towards the door. As they walked I could see Ren quietly saying "Help me" to the rest of us, we waved him goodbye knowing that he would die a little bit inside.

"And that was the last time we ever saw him." Ryder said in comic releef.

"He will always be in our hearts." Jace said joining in on the joke.

"And he never was able to tell Lu-" Before Ryder could finish his sentence Jace put his hand over his mouth.

"Wait, what was he never able to say to me?" I asked

"N-Nothing, I know nothing! Why do you think I know something because I know nothing. Stop looking at me like that!" Then Ryder ran out of the room. Jace waved bye then chased after Ryder.

"I seriously don't understand guys." Leia and I laughed to what Beth said.

"Hey Luna do you want to come with us to find some clues." Leia asked me.

"No thanks. I rather just look around on my own."

"Are you sure? We never see you anywhere without Ren hanging around you. Not that it's creepy but you're both really good friends and always together."

"I'll be fine, I can take care of myself, you know."

"well, I SHIP IT!" Pawblo yelled

"Shut up, Pawblo." Leia scoulded

"I don't know, I can see that ship sailing pretty well."

"Not you too, Beth."

I stepped back slowly walking towards the hallway. "Well you guys are weird, so I'm going to go now. See you later." Then ran to the hallway.

When I got out of the ballroom I looked back to see Leia, Beth, and Pawblo talked to each other then walked towards the same direction where Ryder and Jace went through.

I giggled at them, then went to explore the castle.

Walking through the halls alone was pretty peaceful. Every door was closed in the hallway, like they don't want to be opened. There was a large kitchen, an office, a courtyard that lead to the garden, dining rooms, and many unused bedrooms. As I looked

around the castle I noticed one of the doors were opened. I peeked in to see what was inside and there I saw a man with brown feathered wings wearing the same armor as General Cara and the boy that I saw once again form the village.

"It was really nice to see you again Daniel, are you sure you don't want to come back to us?"

"No thanks, you know what would happen if everyone saw me back there."

The guy in armor looked the other way and towards the ground "Ya, right I forgot, well it was nice to see you again man. I have to go now the General came back and she wants to do some drills and question us about the local gangs."

"Good Luck with that, I'm just going to hang around here a bit onger."

"Alright dude see ya."

The guy in armor opened one of the large windows then he said "Also I heard that Maria is back, if I were you I would stay low for a while."

"Thanks for the heads up."

The guy in the armor nodded then flew out of the window.

The boy from the village turned towards the door where I was standing.

"I know your there come out."

I walked into the room and stood there quietly.

He walked closer to me then said "You’re the same girl that I saw today with your fairy friend. And the same one that saw me in the alley."

"Ya that's me." I said putting my hand behind my head.

"The names Daniel and the dork that you saw is Jason.

"I'm Lucinda but you can call me Luna."

Daniel looked confused then said "Nah, I'll call you little missey, its more fiting for you."

"Wow, making a short based name for a short person very original."

"Then how about Kitty."

"Where the fuck did Kitty come from?"

"Your short and fiesty so Kitty is a good name."

"Just call me Luna."

"Alright 'Kitty'."

I rolled my eyes to his comment.

"So what are you doing here in the kings castle other than getting a chance to meet me." Daniel said flexing his arms.

"I'm here with General Cara and my friends, we're here as the guest of the king."

"Wait are you part of the Legends? Jason was just telling me about you guys. You're supposed to be the strongest of each of the races and are going to be the ones to find and fight the boss."

"um...wow that's interesting but we haven't done anything to get to that stander."

Daniel had a confused look again. "But Maria told everyone in the kingdom that you guys fight a mini boss once or twice a day."

What the fuck Maria! One minute you’re a mega bitch that has trust problems and the next you’re a lieing two-faced idiot. Make up your mind pigeon for gods sake.

"What!?! That's not true, we just hand around and try to level up our combat skills like any other player. Ya, we can get into some fights but that’s because Jace and Ryder are complete idiots and always end up in that situation."

Daniel started to laugh when I was done talking.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing, its just that Maria is the same old person after 6 months. She always tried to make it seem like she was a overall powerful person towards the people she hangs around with."

"so how do you know Maria?"

"I knew her sister Marina, heck everyone knew Marina. Marina was always in charge over all of the armies. When I used to come over to the castle more frequently, I would always see her trying to help one of the soliders with a skiland Maria trailing right behind her. Marin a was brave, clever, and kind to everyone."

"Sounds like you were very close."

"Ya everyone was close to her, some people even compared her to Mother Mary in Solaria. But we lost her in a battle a few months back, she was with Junior General Lucifer and from what I heard they were almost had the location of the final boss but the fallen angels spotted them and attacked very, very few people survived the attack and sadly she was one of the many that were killed including the Junior General."

Wait Junior General Lucifer, could that be Luke and the same attack. I know that his in game name is Lucifer but could he have met this Marina girl.

"Ya, after hearing that she totally changed. Before she was very nice, always smiling, had so much hope in her heart. Everyone thought of Marina as a caring big sister and Maria as our kid sister but after losing her sister she turned cold, more head strong, never lets her guard down, and was by herself more often."

Wow I didn’t realize what she went through all of that. She must have been very close to her sister to change so dirasticly, I know I was a bit shaken up after Luke died. I shouldn't of misjugded her.

"Well I better get going, can't stay in the castle for to long." Daniel said running towards the door.

"How come? Why can't you stay in the castle?"

He turned around then said "I have my reasons. Hey we should talk again."

"Sure just tell me the place and the time."

"How about the gardens, by the willow tree next to the pond."

"Sure see ya."

"See ya later Miss. Moon." Then he left.

Ren and Maria came back from the town and it was time for dinner. Maria just kept on talking to Ren, so I wasn't able to talk to him about Daniel. But I was able to tell Selena about him.

"Really, he sounds interesting."

"Ya he is but he might have some information about that attackers. And later tonight I'm going to meet him in the garden, so I'll have a chance to talk to him more."

"Are you sure this isn't going to be a date."

"What! No, I'm just going to meet him for mission purposes. That's all, nothing else." I explained.

Selena went back to eating with a smirck in her face.

I looked back to Ren to see him smiling and laughing with Maria. Seeing them together didn't seem right to me, some where in my mind was telling me to walk up to Maria and stab her repeatedly with no second thought.

During the dinner, everyone was talking to each other, telling jokes to each other, and eating a good meal. While I was just waiting for it to end then get ready to meet Daniel. When we were done with our food General Cara instructed all of us to our rooms and get some sleep. After everyone was in their rooms, I checked the hallways to see if anyone was there. It was empty and quiet. I put up my hood and headed to the gardens.

"And where do you think your going Lucinda."

I turned around to see Maria wearing a long sleeved white sleeping gown embroided in the ends with pink thread.

"You know I don't like it when people use my full name."

"You didn't answer my question. Where are you going?"

"It's none of your buisness. Don't you have someone else to bother with all your questions." Then I started to walk away.

"You know you hwere so quiet during the dinner today, man Ren was so worried about you. I wonder what he would think if he knew you were sneaking out like this."

I rolled my eyes then said "You can tell him whatever you want, I don't care, okay." Then continued to walk away.

"Hm...Ren seems like a wonderful guy. Tall, smart, loyal, and funny I wonder if he has a girlfriend alreadypr maybe his girlfriend is waiting for him in the real world."

I held my hood closer to my face and left before our conversation got worse.

The sky was dark blue with a hint of purple. And there next to the pond was a little hill with a big willow tree. The willow tree looked like it has been crying for years and has formed the pond. The pond had many lily pads and dragonflies and humming brids flying all around it and also tall sugar canes were growing from the water. Under the willow tree was Daniel siting down on a red n' white checkered blanket sharpening his sword. Next to him was a basket of fresh apples.

"Hey you made it. How was the royal dinner?"

"What, how did you know?"

"Over heard you and your friends when I was setting this all up. Man your friends are really loud talkers."

"Ya they are always like that. Hey nice sword what's the material."

"Dragon scale emerald. I had to go to the dragon dungeon to get tyhis sword."

"But I thought the swords from that area were yellow not green."

"I was able to make it green if I was able to kill 2/3 of the finally mini boss dragons, it took like almost a week to get the color to just be green. What about you, what weapon do you use?"

"I don't have a weapon like a sword, bow, and ect. I like to attack from a distance and play as defence, so I use a staff." Then I made my staff of the dreamcatcher with the cresent moon and the blue ribbon like thing rapped around it appear.

"So you're a mage or healer type then,"

"I guess you could say that."

He took a quick glance at my staff then asked "If you don't mind, may I take a quick look of your staff?"

I brought my staff closer to me and held it tighter.

"I promise I won't steal it, you have my word."

I looked at my staff then handed it to him. He grabbed it with caution then started to examine it.

"Where on earth did you get this staff?"

"I got it at the start of the game. Is it that weak?"

"Are you kidding, it's the total opposite. This a high class staff boss witch staff, its one of the most hardest drops that your can get if you battled a boss witch. I didn't know you could get them right at the start of the game, wow you are very lucky."

"Thanks." He handed me back my staff and then I put it to the other side of I was siting.

"Hey, do you want to an apple. I know you just had a large dinner but you can have one."

"Thanks." I reached into the basket to get a shiney red apple then put it in my inventory to save for later.

"so when you entered the game what weapon did you have other than the sword." I asked him

"At the start I was handed two hand guns like a cowboy or werewolf slayer would have and many different kinds of bullets for the different monsters. I really only use my sword when I'm in close combat with someone but most of the time I just use my guns as a weapon. Its really easy to use and way lighter then my dragon scale sword."

He started to show off is muscles that he clearly didn't have for his very normal skinny arms.

I laughed.

He stopped playing around then asked "So you really in the group that the leaders have so much hope for."

"Ya, I am. But I don't see us as heroes just yet."

"After all of this is over what will you do? Where will you go after this?"

I never thought about that, really no one ever thought of it. That's was the first time someone asked me that. What would happen if we were able leave?

"Well first thing I'm going to do is find my dad and hug him."

"Wow that's sweet."

"Thanks, then I would like to try to apply to an art school. Its always been my dream to attend one so I'd like to at least try."

"Wow, sounds like you know what to do with your life." Daniel said moving closer to me.

Daniel did the classic yawning trick then put his arm around my shoulder.

"Um... what do you think your doing." Removing his arm off my shoulder.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I promise I was just yawning, that's all."

Sure, you keep on belieiving that story.

"So...what are you planning to go after all of this is over?"

"Maybe continue school and try to spend some more time with my mom and brothers."

"How many brothers do you have?"

"4, 4 brothers. Their all athletic so none of them are in Solaria. Do you have any siblings?"

"Ya, an older brother. He came to Solaria with me but then he-he..." I stuttered and held my necklace.

"I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have asked." Then he came in for a hug.

"Daniel its okay, I'm fine."

"No it isn't. Losing someone important to you is never okay."

I didn't really like the hug but I knew he ment well so I hugged him back.

It started to feel nice hugging him, I could hear his heart beating louder and louder and his hug was like a teddy bear hug.

when the hug ended I saw Ren standing next to the pond with his sword in his hand.

"Ren its not what its looks like."

Ren didn't say a word. I couldn't see his eyes because they were covered by darkness and hatered. Without any warnings Ren ran towards Daniel and tried to stab Daniel with his sword.

"Ren stop! What do you think your doing!" i yelled.

He didn't listen, Daniel grabbed his green sword and started to block Ren's attacks. From all of the combos Ren throw, Daniel managed to dauge it. Ren's fist was glowing red then he punched Daniel into the tree. Daniel's was losing his HP very quickly.

I ran in front of Daniel then yelled "Moon Dena!" Then my shield appeared.

"Ren what the hell are you doing!"

Ren looked confused and lowered his weapon.

"Maria said you where in the gardens and needed some help. You were very quiet during dinner so I thought-"

"No! I'm alright see. Are you now beleiving everything that Maria tells you. What happened after being in the town with Maria made you head over heels for her!"

"What where on earth did that come from? Look I just want to know why your sneaking out and meeting with other guys without me knowing!"

"I would of told you about him but you seemed to have so much fun talking to your new girlfriend!"

"Where on earth is this coming from. Forget it, I don't understand why you didn't tell me about him."

"what I need your permission to talk to people now."

"Like I need yours to talk to Maria."

"That is entirly different."

"It's the same danm thing!" Ren yelled.

I turned to Daniel then throw the apple back to him "I'm so sorry about this, there eat the apple to help your HP."

I glarred at Ren then said "I have to go now Daniel, see you later."

"alright I'll try to find you tomorrow then we can talk some more." Then he left.

I started to walk out of the garden then Ren grabbed my arm.

"Hey where are you going."

"Back to my room I'm tired."

"Why the hell were you having a date with a random guy."

"It wasn't a date, I just wanted to ask him some questions that's all."

"But that was-"

"And where in your mind did you think it was a good idea to nearly kill someone."

I said interrupting Ren.

"I made a promise."

"But that doesn't mean you can kill people willy-nilly."

"I had to do it."

"the Ren that I know would never hurt a single soul and right now I don't even know who you are any more."

then he swung his hand and slapped me. when he noticed what he's done, he just starts to look back at me then back at his hand.

"Luna I'm-" but I left before he could finish what he was saying.

When the next day came, Ren and I haven't said a word to each other about the other night. Maria on the other hand took this opportunity and was hanging around him like a leech. Ren tells her repeatedly to leave him alone but she just kept on following him, clearly he didn't want her around and was starting to get annoyed.

Selena noticed the situation that Ren and I where in. When General Cara told us our jobs for the day Selena asked if I could help her in the library. Cara said it was okay then Selena dragged me to the Library. when we got to the library she asked why Ren and I aren't speaking then I told her about the other night with Daniel, Ren fighting him, and about Maria.

"Wow I can't believe it." Selena said.

"Ya, i know it was very unlike Ren to do something like that."

"but its both cute and horrible."

"Cute?"

"Well you both were fighting about the same thing pretty much. Him being around Maria and you hanging out with this Daniel guy. So its pretty cute."

"Your unbelievable." i said while grabbing one of the books from the bookcase.

"But I do have to say Maria's plan worked better then I thought."

I turned to Selena being all confused. "What?"

"Her sceaming skills are getting better, its actually pretty scary."

"Selena!" I screamed "How was Maria able to plan this all."

"She was trying to talk up Ren when they went to town and she was the one who told Ren where you were."

"How do you know all of this?" "Maria told me last night after she talked to Ren. When she found out you were meeting with that boy. She thought of it as an opportunity and attacked." Selena explained.

"That son of a bitch, she so just asked for her death wish."

"Good luck with that, Ren wont let you as long he is wrapped around her finger."

"Then what am I supposed to do then."

"Why don't you ask the Daniel kid, he may have an idea."

I leaned against the book case then said "Ya, after what happen last night i highly dought he wants to see me again."

"Well you never know." She said returning to her book.

"You know you should listen to your friend for once." A voice said from above.

I looked up to see Daniel siting on top of the bookcase with his hood over his head while eating a piece of bread. He jumped off the bookcase to the ground.

"You do realize that this is the library not the cafeteria." Selena said.

"And do you realize that your not a librarian."

Selena rolled her eyes and returned to her book.

"So why are you here? I thought after everything that happened last night that you would never want to see again."

He put his hand on my shoulder then said "Now why would you think that. Ya, I'm confused out of my mind but it wasn't your fault that I was attacked by that phsyco. And besides you seem really cool and I want to hangout with you."

"Wow, smooth Romeo. Now I see why Ren thinks of you as a threat. I think I have a new ship now."

"Selena!" I yelled

"You know what I'm going to leave and see what Kenmer is doing. Hey Green eyes."

Daniel looked towards her direction.

"Don't let my ship sink okay." Then left waving her noodle arms in the sky screaming "I SHIP IT"

"Wow you really have some interesting friends."

"Ya I know."

"Look, it was my fault that I got you in trouble. You should really talk to him and if he doesn't listens then I will talk to him alright."

I nodded my head to the agreement. "Thanks Daniel. I really own you one."

"You better get going I think I saw Ren in the front of the castle."

I nodded then ran to find Ren.

I ran all over the castle to find Ren, When I spot him walking though the enterance door. I was about to aplogize when Maria to him and dragged him to the garden.

"What is Maria trying to do now!"

I followed them to the gardens then lost them.

"Where the hell did they go?"

I looked around and found Ren and Maria next to the fountain. Maria said something to Ren, but I couldn't hear them. Ren shoock his head then Maria came in for a kiss and looked back at me.

I couldn't think of anything, so many words where screaming in my head. And they were all the things that he said to me.

"I made a promise to protect you."

"You were always so cute when I came over to hangout with Luke."

"Luke would be very proud of you."

"I promise I will never leave you."

When Ren stopped kissing Maria he looked towards my direction in shock.

"Luna!?!"

I didn't say a word. I felt like I was going to die right in the spot I was standing in.

"Luna! I can explain-"

But I ran away from there as fast as possible.
