if only he knew
if only he knew
how her voice yearned to
sing his name once more.
how her ears yearned to
hear his voice once more,
if only he knew
she loved him still.
yet even the deepest love
could not mend the truth;
they were meant to fall apart.
if only he knew
that when she lost him,
she lost a piece of herself,
and piece by piece, she continued
to lose sight of who she was.
if only he knew
that she would give anything
to turn back time,
to make things right,
to give their love another try.
if only he knew.
