It has to be...
By the sea, with an elevated wrap around terrace on which I can enjoy priceless sea views in the cool evening air, with a lovely glass of Merlot.
It will have an upper floor master bedroom suite, comprising of a walk-in wardrobe, ensuite bathroom with free-standing bath, and a balcony so I can enjoy that sea view first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee and a croissant.
A farmhouse style kitchen with a Range cooker perfect for baking my own bread. A utility room to hide my clothes washing and muddy boots. A large but cosy living room with a rustic wood-burning fireplace (sorry environment, but I also have solar panels to compensate).
An office framed with bookshelves for writing and reading in peace, with its own balcony to enjoy those sea views whilst I work on the sequel to my best selling novel. (also part of the dream.)
An art studio in the garden room extension.
A dog running free in the half an acre , well-fenced back garden with my own vegetable patch.
A music room where my partner can sing with abandon without disturbing my peace.
And my own small boat moored in a close- by marina so I can enjoy those beautiful sea views up close, anytime I want, sailing on the open seas.
Mi Casa de Sueño
Okay guys. Story time.
One of my favorite memories is a Youth Conference (a camp for 14-18 year olds that my church puts on every year) that I went to when I was 15. My dad, my brother, my best friend, my crush, my whole group of friends, all of my favorite people were there. We loaded up the cars and headed 45 minutes south to a lake. We spent the day having the time of our lives: swimming, eating, splashing, suntanning, boating, waterskiing, smiling, laughing. When we were all exhausted, but still smiling, we headed to the rental house. (We would have camped, but it was way too hot.) From the second I stepped inside, I was in love. The house was built in Mexican style, with a flat roof and square corners. It had plenty of rooms for everyone to sleep, and a huge kitchen. But the crowning feature was the courtyard. In the middle of the house. It was the awesomest thing ever. It had four sliding glass doors so you could enter from any part of the house. The inside had couches and plants, and had no roof, so it opened to the sky. In the middle of the day, it was as hot as hades, and at night you could look up at the stars and hear the crickets sing. I spent my favorite parts of the whole trip in that room. It could dry your hair in about three minutes without using a hairdryer. It was a great place to sit with your best friend and chill. I first watched High School Musical: A Bad Lip Reading there. When we had to leave, I really did not want to go. I loved that room. When I am a world famous author, I will buy that house and sit in my courtyard for hours, reading, writing, and thinking about happy times.
