Moonlight slides across my tongue like
Satin
Ice cream
Vanilla and mint
Laying in the middle of the street
When I close my eyes
Snow fills my senses
The smell of wet cement
And frosted grass as I peer through crystalized branches
The warmth of summer and the sting of winter
The burning air of a 5AM run
As sweat drips down upon my lips
How I imagine the middle of the ocean to smell
Away from humanity's pollution
A welcomed solitude
Nothing but clean salt and water
Sloshing into my senses
The silver light consuming me
Moonlight
Soft tranquil waves
Flow into the sea
Brightened by the moonlight
Sheltered by the trees
The moon gleams sadly
Like a pearl in the sky
Missing from its shell
And lets out a lonely cry
How can one describe
The taste of moonlight
Or the fragrance of the night
That holds such a brilliant sight
I smell fresh air and salty oceans
As I welcome the heavenly glow
Washing over my body
Into me it flows
Such is the effect of the radiant moon
On us mortals who dare to loom
Over the peaceful land and doom
All the earth to days of fiery noon
