The cat says hello and I say....
Good day to you too Mr. Whiskers. I sure hope you found the butter quite satisfying. You know the one that was on the kitchen counter. Yes, of course it was left there just for you. Oh and thank you for bringing that mouse to me this morning. That was quite the catch. I only ask that in the future you would kill it prior to setting it at my feet. It caused quite a ruckus as it ran up my pant leg. Oh and one last thing. The carpeted post in the corner, you know the thing you ignore, that is a scratching post. So I humbly ask you use that to sharpen your claws instead of my curtains, or the couch, or my arm. That is all Mr. Whiskers you are free to bath yourself now.
Kit and Rexamus
Meow?...*snorgle snort*...
the ambivalent response
Kit curls up cozy purring
next to the scorched warm belly
of Rexamus the dragon king
as with any proper cat
her company is accepted
if head perches and back sits
upon an otherwise fearsome lizard
are hardly invited
her company amuses him
and she chases away pests
that would dig and fester
beneath seemingly hardy scales
he admits he likes her subtleties
especially the calming purrs
and on days whose sharpness
exceeds both their claws
a purr can relax
every last scaly sinew.
