It is everything

Yet it is nothing

Beautiful

Yet bleak

A world in chaos

Or the universe at peace

I was shy and scared and small,

So I put it in my hair.

The bright and glowing color,

Keeps away those that wouldn't

Deserve me.

I was lost and damn confused,

So I put it on my phone.

A reminder every moment

That it's who I want to be--

Just like that color.

I'm uninteresting, plain--

But only at first glance.

Look below my average icy eyes

And you'll find lava, cardinals--

Blood.

When I wear it, I feel taller,

I feel like I can rule the world--

And to see this color

Everywhere,

I remind myself--

I can.

It no longer is someone that

I want to be, I look up to--

It's no longer a dream.

It's just me. It's become me.
