Kamelot’s Epica Album based on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s Faust
This is similar to the story behind one of my favorite bands Kamelot the Epica album which was based on Goethe's Faust.
The lead character Ariel was a striving arrogant scholar. Who, with so much hunger for knowledge, he wanted to know everything and left all he had to look for answers that can satisfy his questions. But in the end, all he needed was Helena -- his true love who died for him and in turn saved him from his death. ( the story is too long.)
Love.
I have seen happily married couple get seperated (we don't have divorce here) just because "there's no spark" or "something lacks not sure though" or "we got tired of each other"
Wealth.
I have been with wealthy people. They may have all the money in the world, buy expensive and exquisite things and spend fortunes on nonsense. Always attending parties or hosts parties with people they call friends. But really, at the end of the day, when everyone is home, and at times of need, they are the loneliest ones.
Power.
I came from a political family. This, I'm very much familiar with. Heck, I sometimes use it to my advantage. But then again, I have seen family friends who got consumed with their power that are now paying the price. (I won't go further)
We as humans, never get satisfied with what we already have. We always look for something more. Be it more affection, attention, more money, more power, more knowledge. We are always hungry and thirsty for what we could still have. And will do everything to quench that thirst. But really, you can't. Each discovery will lead to a new one. Which will just continue o
So to answer the question. I'd still choose true love. Which is for me is writing and singing. I don't want romantic love anymore. I'm much better off doing things alone. Than be with someone who I know will never get satisfied with what I can give and I don't want to blame anyone from their shortcomings too. It may appear as cowardice or being wimp but i'm like that. I don't want to risk anyone from being hurt by either me or himself.
So true love it is.
disgraceful humans
rotting in true love
but I'll tell you something
love isn't real
Just a trap
Waiting so that they could
pull you back
pitiful love
Watching with anxious eyes she waits
like a bird that cannot fly
and is singing with a broken wing
in her cage
love is all fake
Like sucking on a sour pop
too bitter to enjoy
I would chose power
and rule with dignity
Choose Your Weapon
The question stands hypothetical, as a test to see what exists in our minds, beneath skin and bone. What motivates us or what can we do the most with, when given these options? In my life as a growing individual my continued growth has always pressed me to be more and more specific, so when I see these options I break them down and although that's a "Duh" response to some, I can definitely see it isn't something we all share.
True Love, is a neat title, but I do not know what is defined as False Love : infatuation, lust, broken love, of this I'm not sure. Wealth, is a great idea meaning you have a terrific abundance, but in this case of what? Power, ah yes, it could mean physical strength, sway over ruling bodies, and anything else you relegate it to. So, what do I choose and more importantly : Why?
Of these three concepts I must go with the first-mentioned. I am going to rename it "love" instead of the title there. The reason is many see love as that which is between two people, I do not. I'm happiest with the notion that I can find love in activities such as writing, which are far less complicated, than the situation presented with trying to tie two lives together. I feel that the better point to this is, when you find something you love, you become a wealth of knowledge on the item, and therefore powerful to those that look into it. You become the embodiment of the three ideas, and yet, all you chose : Love.
A Little Bit of Everything
The soul can only dream about attaining “true love.” Finding that “one person who truly understands you for you, someone who ‘gets’ you and wants to spend eternity with you in blissfully shared cohabiting happiness” is something many desire. So that, on lonely winter nights or during holidays heavily marketed towards lovers, they don’t wonder to themselves whether or not they’ll end up dying alone in a horde of cats that will probably eventually eat their rotting corpses. However, over time and without effort to maintain it, love, just as everything else, can fade. Although a preferred feature of the “life” package, it’s not enough just by itself.
A person’s wealth is subject to opinion, therefore even having $1 in the bank account may be considered as “wealthy” by some. Wealth is needed to maintain love. It doesn’t mean that it’s needed to buy unnecessary things such as a flashy car or an extremely expensive watch. It’s needed to be comfortable, have a roof over one’s head, and keep the heat and water running. Love is strained once the honeymoon stage dissolves into worries about whether or not the bills can be paid on time. In addition, in this materialistic culture that tends to need validation, what better ways to display love with small occasional tokens of affection?
Power is also needed to live a decently happy/tolerable life. It’s needed to maintain love and wealth, since people generally gravitate toward power, and the powerless often have everything taken away.
It all goes hand in hand.
TRUE LOVE!
True love is synonymous
With Prince Charming’s kiss
Alas, this conception is piteous
Real love is far more powerful than this
A mother’s warm, comforting embrace
A father’s protective instincts functioning ceaselessly
Trying to shield their child from the bitter taste
Of the world’s harsh cruelties flung mercilessly
This is true love.
When a child rushes into his parents' open arms
Completely trusting that their unconditional love
Will keep him safe and sound
Away from all harm
This is true love.
Love gives our hearts meaning
Pounding hard and fast
Not just to keep us living
To make sure we've had a good laugh
Before we breath our last.
If I ruled the entire universe
Coughing up piles and piles of money
And left without a mortal to ride my hearse
Whose heart was full of pain and agony
An impotent existence, a mere waste of time.
True love is worth more than
Ostensibly powerful silver dimes.
True love
True love over rules wealth and power because it lasts forever. It keeps you happy longer. Although it may cause tears it will all be worth it in the end. Nothing can break it. No one can take it away. Love makes you a better person while wealth and power makes you greedy and ignorant. So take my word and choose true love. You'll thank me later.
What Now?
True love! I've felt it once or maybe it's what I thought. It's a feeling of constant longing, a craving for someone else to always keep you whole. I must say true love shows weekness so why not choose wealth or power. Being wealthy or powerful, leading with pride and dignity that's what counts.
There's no such thing as true love!
