“Divine”?

They call me many names,

None which are mine.

Blood

They find

Spilled in honor of many names

None which were mine.

For if they knew my truth,

The sun would shine yellower

And my true name

Would be secret no longer.

I am the sun, the breath of fresh air,

The grass beneath your feet,

The food on your plate, the blood in your veins...

Life itself carries a heartbeat.

Divine.

Divine horses, run the wind.

Divine people take charge when nothing goes right.

Divine pets fix everything.

Divine hands can form a work of art.

Divine creators span from God to man, doing things as best they can.

Divine your guardian, angel or not.

Divine; defined.

A noun, verb, or feeling next to God.

Divine is the way you look when you smile 

Divine is your laugh 

Divine is the sound of your voice tempting me to do something bad

Divine is the feeling I get when I'm with you it's a high I'm truly and utterly addicted to 

It's how I feel when your hands are on my body when your breath is on my neck.  Divine is simply heavenly.

Divine doesn't exist.

Not in my mind, not anymore.

If anything is divine, it is me. 

It is my mind.

It is what I can carefully construct in my shiny, sparkly brain.

My messy imagination

of all the ways I can help people realize

that they are divine, too. 

That they matter.

Without the existence of a god, of a god whose good graces I am striving to stay in

Divine is only human. 

After all, it is more noble to do good without agenda, than to help your neighbor with an ulterior motive to get something in return.

Right?

So let's throw off this amorphous idea of "divine" being reserved for a nebulous entity far off in the clouds

And be the best version of ourselves. The best Makers of the Divine we can be.
