To fall in love
At 14... Boys don't have cooties. But they are smelly and will lie to get a kiss
At 16... Boys lie to do a lot of other things too
At 18... Boys are still boys when they are 18 and can make you act crazy
At 21... That I wasn't in love with him, just his family
At 25... I've spent the last 10 years making bad decisions and I don't know what it means to be in love
At 30... I didn't "fall in love" all those other times. I fell in love when I held my son for the first time. I fall gradually more in love with my husband as an amazing father and best friend. And I fall in love every time I hear my daughters sweet voice sing to me.
Love Means
When I fell in love for the very first time I suddenly noticed that colours in nature became more vibrant. I found myself worrying about someone were before people meant nothing to me.
I found myself writing long lyrical letters in my neatest handwriting, and treasuring snapshots no matter how poorly they turned out.
I found myself searching for the right word and for the first time in my life I began to care how I looked.
When I fell in love for the first time I never felt tired, I felt alive and at one with the universe.
Love taught me how to live.
Love yourselves and each other
There is always someone that loves you. Loves you for the way you laugh and smile and cry and breathe. Loves you for the way you walk and speak and yell and whisper too. Loves you for the way you look in your favorite shirt and the way you look when you just woke up.
There's someone that loves you as much as you do.
Time
That everything is timing
To not be afraid of putting yourself out there
Don't be jaded by yesterday
Every situation is different
That you can be tricked
That you can be right and wrong in the same sentence
To give
To be brave enough to receive
That it comes....
That it goes
And when your lucky it comes back
