Peter Pan
When I was little
Everyone liked princesses
But me
I liked Tinker Bell
She could fly
She was magic
She was amazing
And so was her companion
One night
I was feeling low
Lost
And alone
When they came to visit me
They made me smile
And laugh
They made me happy
But then
A few years later
The world
Turned dark
No one laughed
No one smiled
Everyone was sad
Everyone was gone
And there stood
Peter and Tink
Playing together
I asked them;
"Why are you smiling
When no one else is?"
He answered;
"The world is ours for the taking
No need for THEM to be happy
Besides
There's nothing I can do anymore"
"What do you mean?"
I ask
"No one knows who I am anymore
They have all forgotten me
Forgotten us"
He replied
Sadly
I was shocked
"Oh, but Peter,
Don't you know who you are?
You're a symbol of kindness and hope
No one has forgotten you
We are all just waiting
Waiting for you to come back"
He stood and smiled
"maybe you're right"
He says to me
He grabbed my hand
And we flew away
To make everyone smile
To make everyone happy
Peter Pan.
Peter, don't you know who you are?
Don't you remember me?
I'm the one that taught you about the second star
I taught you, so you could be free
Free of the pain it is to grow up
Free of the drink from the devil's cup
Free of expectation
Free to create a different kind of nation
Why are you back in this world?
Wasn't the place I showed you good enough?
That place you call home is a dreamworld
Many never behold, no matter how tough
Your looks and glances to that dark window
Alert me that I had made a crucial mistake
And I should have seen the foreshadow
About how your heart would come awake
You don't see me anymore
And I realize you will never remember before
So I slink away with one last suffering glance
As I watch your's and her's shadows dance
peter, don't you know who you are?
i have led you here by my magic touch
i, the one you immediately learned to trust!
peter, see this world?
games and fantasy, no work for you
those that you thought were lies are true!
freely, you can frolick and play
camping with indians, swimming with mermaids.
what wonderful, youthful days!
oh no, here he comes
captain hook is on his way to us!
save us peter, swords and fairy dust!
oh my oh my, are you bored?
why not learn a song from the trees?
neverland never runs out, can't you see?
peter, peter, where are you going?
that pirate's ship isn't meant for you!
stop there, right now, i finally speak the truth!
...
peter, don't you know who you are?
you were the boy who I brought out of kindness
now look what you've done, you meddlesome boy
you're grown up, and donned an eyepatch!
excruciating, all my careful work gone to waste.
you're trashing the forest, draining the lakes
introducing the indians to bullets and flames.
a naughty child grows a naughty man!
ahh, i guess i'll have to find another peter then...
Remember the Captain
The wood creaked under the weight of the swaggering captain, his eyes looking wild and the grin on his face growing as the boy squirmed in his binds. The boy flinched as the captain brought out his hooked hand, entwining the metal with the rope he was bound in.
"Peter Pan," the man drawled. The boy blinked. "Peter, don't you know who you are?" He drawled, a sickeningly sweet demeanor taking form over his face. "Oh you poor thing. Just as lost as the rest of the little boys were." The captain brandished a knife. "Perhaps this will help you remember, old friend." He sank his blade into the boy's shoulder, a scream of agony erupting from his throat. "Do you remember old Captain Hook now boy?!" The pirate twisted the blade and tears ran down the boy's face.
"Please I don't know- "the captain slapped him, withdrawing his blade swiftly. He let the boy cry as he wiped the blade clean.
"Oh you will know Peter. All in due time."
