Goodnight, Annoying Child
No, I will not read you goodnight moon again. You have heard this story hundreds of times, know exactly what happens, have a mental picture of every picture in the book, and by the way I just read it to you. While you crying makes a compelling case, this is something I will not budge on. You should at least ask for a different story so it's less obvious that you're just trying to avoid going to bed.
Disappointment
To a child disappointment is not getting the color sucker they want. Not being able to hog all the toys, and having to share. Being told no from their parents. Not getting to go to the park on a sunny afternoon, or play in the rain because there parents think it's too strong, or they'll get a cold. Disappointment to a child is they're left out from a crowd .
When you get older it all changes. And all those disappointments , are just little things you want, and if you get then you're pretty happy. But if not, it doesn't really change anything. Because when you're older , disappointment is getting a bad grade. Homework. Studying. Having responsibilities . Not getting the job you want. Not getting the guy or girl you want. Breaking up. Rent. Bills. True disappointment is realizing all your life went by and the whole time you wished that the biggest disappointment of your life could've been that you didn't get the blue sucker, but that's not how it works . Nothing's that easy. What you find disappointing all comes with how old you are, your responsibilities , or personality.
The ultimate sadness
My child's electronic tablet isn't working!
Child's response,"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
Maybe teach your kid about life instead of hoping they'll find it in their games, while you look for yours at the bottom of bottles (alcohol, pills, whatever.) Children need discipline to find a greater cause, otherwise, you're going to watch them find disappointment in all things. But this is by far the most disgusting form of sadness I've ever seen. They act like they're suffering from withdrawals and we just try to find a way to keep them appeased. Seriously, stop feeding this behavior.
