Eyes captured

by moodiness of a painting,

boldness of onyx night

seized, trapped

by chains of a canvas.

Tints and tinctures

of gloominess -

a man with sinister stance

hidden in somber colors.

Art awakens with light

encapsulated in moonlight,

exposing other side

of an unknown,

aching to show its face

as it melds

into molten truth,

submerged spasms

of alienation.

I sob

as I feel depth

of pain and sorrow,

averting my gaze

from starkness,

emptiness and grief.
