my nose is a strawberry

my toes distinctly icicles

every finger has been transformed

into that of a dead man

every inch of me shivers in the chill

too cold to do anything

but huddle beside the heater

dreaming of the sort of warmth

you can feel in your bones

Winters breath sends out a chill

A taste of what is to come

Not yet frigid

Just cold enough for snow

A nice jacket will suffice

No need for that winter coat

But beware

Rosy cheeks and

Runny nose

sniffle

If playing out too long

Goosebumps

Plop

Plop

Hairs on the back of my neck rise.

The wind gently turns my cheeks a rose red.

Suddenly

Sweat drops

Stuffed

Tight

The thick cotton sticks to my legs

Change

Unprepared for this change

Abruptly

Wishing for the mixture of these two

Like it use to be.

You wouldn't believe it was December 1st. Comfortable 70 degrees with a perfect amount of wind. Golden leaves blowing between the neighborhood, connecting our lives with theirs. Beautiful blue sky, the kind we all long for throughout winter. The sweet taste of the fallen leaves mixing into each breath. Bliss.

Yet... I think I'm cold blooded...

Stepping outside to feel the coldness of winter slap me silly as I jump and down.

Hoping tounning back inside to not face my terror when I am caught by my mother...
