Specter of Summer
Summer’s tears drip golden leaves
As bronze tints blush on Nature’s face
Weeping rustles ash-hued trees
While Sun reaches towards Fall’s embrace
Morning bites; the apples, crisp
Harvest moon, tall corn fields splay
Winds bend branches; cloud skies wisp
As sunlight wanes to shortened days
Between her life and dust, the grave
Blaze of brilliance; torching flames
Beauty bleeds; cicadas fade
Crushed beneath each barren frame
Kiss the dusky sunset skies
August, swallowed by September
Gone, before you realize;
Green leaves ghosts in Autumn’s embers
A BEAUTIFUL DAY
The brilliant sun shines down upon me, not too hot, but just right for this time of year as Autumn slowly approaches us. A slight breeze ruffles through my hair and it feels refreshing. Today is the perfect day to relish the great outdoors, only because they will soon come to an end, only to be replaced with bitter cold and falling snow.
inbetween
nothing ever feels right
stuck in between.
you’re too young for serious,
too old for innocence.
you never get a chance,
stuck between two generations.
you’re too jewish to be baptized,
too christian to read torah.
you’re always just wrong,
stuck between two religions.
you’re too gay for them,
not gay enough for someone else.
you never fit in,
stuck between two sexualities.
nothing ever feels right.
it can’t feel right
when you are stuck
inbetween
Reverse
I wake up
To a reality that feels like dream
When I am in your skin
And you’re in mine
But still the heart that beats
Counts us as one.
I wake up
As you in the morning
Just to be amazed at how stunning
The beautiful ray once it touches
Your pristine skin
That makes me feel like
I’ve fallen for you
A thousand times more
I wake up
To find the pretty blue eyes of mine
That you use to gaze back at me
As you hug me hard
They are just pools of thoughts
Nobody ever pays attention to
But you make a brave decision to
Jump into it
Seeing my soul through it
And to never leave ever since
I wake up
And here we are
In a world where we are being the people we are again
And as the breeze kicks in
And I kiss you a good morning
I cannot help from wishing that morning never comes
So that I will spend the night my entire life with you.
