New Year: 2017
I have lost myself, somewhere between the middle of last year and my last sentence.
I do not wish to be the same girl I was last year.
I have my dreams and hopes and I want to capture them before this fog of smoke blurs my vision and before the steady stream of alcohol dissolves my thoughts.
I know who I want to be and I will not stop till I get there.
This year, I want to discover my full potential and what I am capable of achieving, if only I try.
There are some memories and moments, in my life, and yours, that we can never forget. Even at the promise of a new, fresh start because some scars made us who we are today and we can never let go of the pieces that formed us.
Never forget who you are and what made you that way. Our pasts shaped us into the people we are and we can never forget who hurt us because they pushed us into the direction we needed to go.
Cheers to more thought provoking poems and short stories which hold truths of a broken door leading to a limpless figure.
You are not alone. I am here for you and so are many other poets with their own broken hearts and shattered stories.
I believe in you. Keep fighting.
