Elections
Hey guys I'm Morris from Nairobi city in the East African country called Kenya. On Tuesday October 8th 2017 we are having our general election. As most of you know many African leaders are gluttons and the lure of power holds a tight leash around their necks that all they can do is slander other peoples names and some even result to killing each other. Politics is my country and many other countries not only in Africa is a game of tricks and the candidates use every trick in the book to make sure they win.
Currently there are 44 tribes in Kenya. Due to this a lot of misunderstandings and conflicts occur from time to time. Being in a third world country most people are illiterate and naive. The learned politicians have learnt how to manipulate people to achieve their desires. Most people are bribed by the politicians with a little money so as to vote for them. Once sworn in (which is a process I think they should just forgo because they don't seem to honour their words) they end up looting and embezzling taxpayers money for nearly five years. Most of them bring out zero development but during the five years they'll ensure their wages are raised to exorbitant rates.
During the disputed 2007 elections our former president Mwai Kibaki was accused of rigging votes. This led to a period of tribal war where many lives were lost not mention the amount of property that was destroyed. You can google more about this.
Tribalism brought our country to its knees and it continue to fasten its dirty claws among ignorant people. Most people are learned but in a country of about 49 million people that doesn't help much. I'm not trying to paint a bad picture of our country though, its just the truth.
Kenya is a beautiful place. If you've never heard about us you should make Google your friend. Read about our culture and history and see pictures of our wild animals. Some of you might have heard about us because we are good in athletics.
Anyway I digress. For those who pray please pray for us. Those who believe in luck I don't know what to tell you. I love my country and I wouldn't like to see people do what they did to each other in 2007.
