Hayleys parents had left the lovebirds to it. Allowing then some much needed time to catch up. She had squealed with delight when she saw him. Her Adam. Everybody had worked together to keep it a secret and it was more than worth it to see the happy tears fill her beautiful blue eyes.
Within ten minutes she had found out about his new job waiting at the local restaurant and bar, how his family felt on the decision and now they both lay curled up against one another talking about the future.
The future had never seemed so bright for Hayley and she felt the fuzzy feeling of love envelope her. She knew she was lucky and never in her life did she think this kind of happiness would be hers.
She made her mind up then. It was time. She was ready. She leant up and kissed his lips gently. He smiled against her mouth before returning the sweet gesture. They kissed slowly and gently, but as she crawled up onto his lap the passion grew and the gentle caresses soon became a frenzied mess of groping and kissing one another.
Adam pulled back to catch his breath and held Hayley at arms length. "Not like this."
A sorrow filled her face and she quickly tried to cover it up. She wasnt fast enough. He picked up on the show of emotion and was quick to reassure her. "No, no. Of course I want you. In all the ways I can have you. But it should be special. For your first. Not like this. Rushed on the sofa. I'm going to make it special. I'm going to make it right... right for you."
The overwhelming emotion filled her again and she smiled at him as she circled her arms around his neck and pulled him down for a final kiss. Her words not enough. Her words not available. She loved him with her everything. And she knew he loved her back just as much.
The rest of the day had passed without incident. Adam had been invited to dinner and he joined the family for the Sunday chicken roast and all the trimmings. Everything was washed down with wine for the adults and cream soda for the children. It was an enjoyable evening and the next day was an easy one too.
________
Hayleys closest friends at her new school were a group of three girls and a guy named Ricardo. Ricardo was gayer than a glittery rainbow and he was so very proud of the fact. He was weak and floundering, overly emotional and dramatic. He was a queen, in all senses of the word.
Then there was Tamara, Angelica and Bec. Tamara had a huge obsession with anything anime. This included the way she dressed, how she spoke and what she read and watched. She was friendly, gentle and loved all things frilly.
Angelica was a sweetheart. She got all A's, took after school clubs and always tried to read people. Her pyschology studying was a part of her every day life and whenever somebody kicked off or caused a scene in the school, she discussed the matter with her friends as though the person in question was a subject. Somebody to read and study. It was often interested to listen to her. She was often right.
Bec was the roughest of the group. She swore constantly, often had detention and had an unusual interest in dark, forbidding sexual exploration. She knew the things that she wanted were wrong. She also knew that's why she wanted them. According to Angelica, Bec had daddy issues. She'd developed the need to have a father figure around after her dad had left them in the lurch on her ninth birthday. That need soon mixed with hormones and sexual frustration, and in turn this caused the well known daddy issue. Hayley herself, just thought Bec was a kinky type of person. It wasnt only sex that she felt this need to get extreme with. She had the need to push everything. She was a rebel.
Hayley sat with her small group of friends in the cafeteria and they giggled away about her boyfriend moving into the area and how she was finally about to lose her virginity. She was the only one left with her V intact still. Even Angelica had lost hers to a boy in holiday camp a few months ago. A lot of the time, teenagers would find the situation embarrassing. To still openly be a virgin, amongst sexually active peers. She didn't find herself feeling embarrassed or awkward. She was proud. Proud of her ability to keep herself for her man. Her love.
Amd tonight was the night. She didnt know what to expect. Nor did she know what time it would take place. But her heart sped up as she imaged different scenarios about how it could go.
Eddie and Jacob were both trying to get her to party with them as she walked home. It was always the case. They always tried to convince her. She always refused. It was nice of them to be so persistent. It made her feel pretty. Almost like she was being chased. The boys had left school the previous year and were currently studying at the adjoined college.
They actually made the party sound tempting this time, but she had bigger plans. More important plans. Something that would stay with her forever would happen that night. She wasnt willing to change her plans for a party. Not that night.
