I fly like a butterfly

softly fluttering

past you, unnoticed.

gliding smoothly

past life.

(a life I want to stop flying through).

I fly like a butterfly

only seen in warmth.

(little do you know, I soar in coldness more).

I fly like a butterfly

through beauty

but sometimes the heat is heavy

and I start drifting

down.

(please save me from the ground).

I fly like a butterfly

but a butterflies wings

are fragile,

and so

I fall like a butterfly

unable to beat

my torn heart.

(why couldn’t you see me?)

(why couldn’t you see the tears?)

I was a broken butterfly begging for you to help (but you let me fall).
