Bugs Bunny & four year old me
I finally found that cartoon I always longing to watch, Bugs Bunny and Daffy Ducks. And it’s even better than what I imagined it would be.
Sitting down with a cup of tea, listening the rain drops hitting the window pane, the whole world is spinning, dancing and laughing with bunny, ducky and pocky. Memories of the little mirror box mom bought for me in elementary school, with bugs bunny cartoon character on it. I always dreamed that one day there would be a chance that I could watch it… like so many other cartoons that were not available for me when I was still living in some remote corner of the world in China. Like a little pouch of memory so well-contained and protected, yet, endless days and nights of dreaming, imagining… yearning for the colorful outside world, with unlimited supplies of real butter and cheese…
The four year old me coming back, sitting right in the center of my heart, laughing so hard, till her eyes filled with tears… Many “Thank you” for the future me, for bring this little Daisy to this very moment, where she could finally indulge herself with such unlimited supplies of sparkling goodies that she had ever dreamed, from back 35 years ago that little corner in China. Soaking in all the heroic funny Bugs Bunny stories in cartoons… The four year old girl so filled with abundant of joy and happiness. dancing, laughing, and giggling on… until the whole world started spinning on and on, as her laughters fills up the whole space and universe. The stars from the sky heard her, bowing down, extending their arms, giving her gentle kisses. The clouds of angels heard her, putting their soft wings around her, cradling and tickling her.. Grandmother Moon heard her, reaching out her arms from the moon, putting her on the laps, whispering soft lullabies to her ears…. Bugs Bunny from the TV screen heard her, walking out of the screen, shook her hand, and put a super bunny suit on her, from head to toe: “I now announce and award you with the noble title of ‘WI Bunny’, Congratulations! You are the supper man of our bunny world now.” “Little one, I’m so proud of you.” “I’m so proud of you too, the 35 year later me.”
