Cosmic Song

riding on waves of stardust

across this mismatched sky

spotted with gold and laced

with blue black ink, thrown

together and torn apart at

the seams, the very fabric

of the universe s p l i t t i n g

as if to allow us through

colliding with the sun in a

burst of blinding color, bright

rainbow shimmering like a melody

just out of reach

we will forget this moment,

as all is forgotten, engulfed

by the universe itself, reimagined into

a new set of stars,

a dazzling comet,

a sundripped sky

in the end, we won’t remember

but we won’t be forgotten

one day we’ll be stardust

and the moon will sing

our cosmic song to everyone

that dares to listen
