Ghosts
There's been an echo in these halls.
Memories of a long forgotten past.
Laid to rest in these hollow walls.
Broken and bruised,
I seek you out.
You haven't shown yourself for a while,
And I'm beginning to have my doubts.
You play your tricks.
And in the corner of my eye,
I see you move.
I didn't come here to disprove.
There's no need to hide.
Like you my friend,
I struggle to accept I've died.
I know you're there.
I can feel your cold.
A soul trapped between two worlds.
Both the young and old.
We struggle to find the light.
We feel our way through the dark.
Living in a world set to black and white.
We've heard this all before.
Just a restless soul,
In search of so much more.
We talk in our sleep.
Admit guilt to a life full of sin.
We sold our place in heaven,
Before ever being let in.
Just a shell of who we once were.
Scarred and crippled,
With all the pain we endured.
We take our regrets to the grave.
It's too late now.
We extend our hands,
Hoping to be saved.
We ask for a second chance.
Hoping for time to change.
We're so willing to pay in advance.
Signing the line in blood,
But never asking why we should.
