Daniel 4:37 - Thanks and Praise Where It’s Due (Bible Journal)
“Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and glorify and honor the King of heaven. All his acts are just and true, and he is able to humble the proud (Daniel 4:37 NLT)."
King Nebuchadnezzar is a tough sell for me, especially after reading his unfair requests and cruel punishments from the first few chapters of Daniel. Yet, just like him, I too have fallen into the trap of pride and giving myself credit over God, who makes anything and everything possible to begin with. The teacher I worked with yesterday in my church's kid service taught the class that "the one you can thank for everything is God," and it is amazing how easy it is to forget this. We may or may not have to learn the hard way like Nebuchadnezzar did, but the king ultimately gave God the glory, and God thankfully gives us the chance to do the same, even when we stray. Thank You Lord for teaching me through a wide variety of personalities, including King Nebuchadnezzar. Thank You for EVERYTHING, and thank You for Your continued patience with me. I will keep working on remembering that You are the one that continues to bless my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
