Darn Mosquito
As Tate slashed the air with his blade, swarms of bullets emerged from the sword. The Pirate deflected multiple bullets with his swords, and avoided the rest with movements that looked like a dance. Once Tate took a break from swinging his weapon, the Pirate sent more lasers at him by swinging his lit up laser sword through the air. Much like the Pirate, Tate gracefully dodged the lasers while also using his blade to deflect blasts.
"Our long range attacks are impressive Pirate, but apparently so are our dodging skills. We're going to have to cross blades again to settle this!"
"Fine by me." The Pirate smiled. Before he could make a move, he noticed Tate smacking his bare shoulder with the palm of his hand.
"Darn mosquitoes!" Tate grimaced. "At least they aren't in the hub's version of this beach."
"Yeah, I don't recall factoring mosquitoes into the simulation. I wonder if Hugh added them for a irritating obstacle. Anyway, are you going to use a second blade Tate?"
"Nah, thrashing you with two blades has been too easy. I may be an AI, but you did program me with a desire to learn. I wouldn't mind improving my own skills by facing your two swords with my sole weapon."
"As you wish." The Pirate grinned, marveling over how lifelike his creation was. He charged at Tate, attempting a strike with his standard blade upon approach. Tate quickly blocked it with his own. The Pirate then prepared to bring his laser sword down on his opponent, when Tate halted the strike by grabbing his wrist. Ice materialized from the Pirate's wrist down the rest of his arm, leaving him shocked (and not in an electrocuted way).
"H-h-how did you do that?" The Pirate asked, shivering from the cold. "I thought you were just a warrior without magic abilities?"
"Normally that's true, but Wasila lent me some of the ice powers she is also borrowing from Cerissa." Tate smirked. Tate took the Pirate's swords away as the ice spread, leaving only his head and neck unfrozen. Tate then lept behind his rival and surrounded both sides of the Pirate's neck with the stolen blades.
"That mosquito bit Wasila and transfered some of the ice spell ability to me for my own temporary use. Wasila may be frozen in ice like you are, but she has already absorbed the ice spell for her own use. Rick and Janet may think they have the upper hand charging her while she is immobile, but she is far from helpless. I am going to take your head with your own blades, but first you can enjoy watching your crew die by my beautiful lady's hands."
"Don't underestimate my friends." The Pirate said boldly, despite his shivering. "They have a plan of their own, no doubt."
