Treatment and discipline
When this generation has kids,
we're probably going to treat them how our parents treated us either really nice or really disrespectful or straight in the middle of both.
The treatment we got,
Gets passed down for generations on end,
It never goes away,
If we didn't get support,
Our kids won’t get the support they need
The punishment with the belt,
Or the switch,
Or just the bare hand.
They pain that we got,
We pass on.
The generational trauma,
It's a vicious cycle.
The years on end ,
Getting beat,
Begging for them to stop.
Every time they raise it,
The trauma fresh in their mind,
They relive it,
But we are the younger version of them.
The tears shedding from our eyes,
The blurry vision,
Unable to see anymore,
They raise it one more time,
The last one always hurts the worst.
The marks all over our body,
Tallies in some places,
Bloody marks in others.
The item.
The trauma.
The tears and blurry vision.
The marks.
