Presidential To-Do List:
First Executive Order: Nationwide mandatory quarantine order for fourteen days while the borders are sealed. Effective Immediately.
Mission: Banish Covid-19.
Second Executive Order: Free National Healthcare for all, irrespective of income level. Funded by taxes and added to the national budget. Includes Dental and covers all prescription items and non-prescription health essentials, including but not limited to multivitamins, all forms of birth control and feminine hygiene products. Effective Immediately.
Mission: Turn the U.S. back into a First World County.
Third Executive Order: Forgive all student loan debts held by either federal or state governments, or by third party lenders. Abolish for-profit higher education institutions. Create new programs for federally subsidized college and trade school tuition for all students.
Mission: Eliminate crippling debt accrued before a career is established that perpetuates poverty.
Fourth Executive Order: Demilitarize, defund and dismantle police forces. Replace with multiple specialized city and state agencies. Each agency must provide comprehensive, issue-specific training to potential employees for a minimum of three years post-undergraduate.
For example: The taskforce that interacts with homeless individuals must study mental health, addiction and poverty and how to cultivate relationships with people on the street so that assistance will be accepted and most effectively provide aid.
Additionally, demonstrated anti-discrimination and anti-racism must be prerequisites.
Mission: Eliminate police brutality, violence and murder against civilians, particularly minorities and the mentally ill.
Fifth Executive Order: Amend the penal code. Punishment should fit the crime not the plea deal. Prison time should correlate to perpetrator's danger level to society. Therefore, batterers, child molesters, rapists and murderers should receive the longest sentences, especially if they cannot be rehabilitated. Financial and drug crimes should have a path to reconciliation.
For example: Unarmed thieves of any kind should be placed on a schedule of repayment. They should be monitored to prevent further theft and have portions of their paychecks automatically removed and sent to their victims until they are fully compensated. This saves tax dollars on incarceration and actually restores money to those they have robbed.
Mission: Protect the public from evil malfeasors and reduce incarceration rates.
Sixth Executive Order: Amend the Tax Code. Raise taxes for anyone earning more than $100,000 a year, with percentage of income tax rising per every additional $100,000 per year. Eliminate taxes altogether for anyone earning $50,000 or less annually.
Mission: Eliminate poverty and raise the general standard of living for lower to middle income people. Create funding for robust social welfare programs by closing tax loopholes for the wealthy.
Seventh Executive Order: Abolish the Electoral College and substitute with the popular vote. One person, one vote. This also allows people to vote from anywhere in the country at any pollsite during a presidential election.
Mission: Restore democracy and the nobler ideals of the constitution such as a government by the people for the people by allowing a majority vote to elect officials.
Eighth Executive Order: Amend the constitution so that Supreme Court Justices are elected by the American public and serve terms rather than lifetime appointments.
Mission: Create a bulwark against corruption caused by collusion between the three branches of government and restore a system of checks and balances.
ZZzzzzzh. ZZzzzzzh.
Oops. Did I doze off for a second?
What? Ten minutes left?!!
Ninth Executive Order: Issue formal federal apologies to both the Native Indigenous People whose land the original settlers stole and to all African-Americans whose ancestors were enslaved. In addition, all descendants of both groups should be awarded reparations. Native lands should receive permanent protections from oil drilling of any kind (Yes, Dakota Access Pipeline, I'm looking at you.), as well as any other trespasses and pollutions of air, land and water. Native People should also be compensated monetarily for past and present sins, including stolen sacred and ancestral homelands, genocide and child snatching. African-Americans should be awarded actual financial reparations for four hundred years of unpaid labor, horrific cruelty and to counter lasting inequities.
Mission: Some measure of restorative justice.
Tenth Executive Order: Repair broken aslyum laws that only apply to anyone who comes in from anywhere but the U.S.'s southern border. Abolish I.C.E. and create a new humane agency that processes aslyum cases quickly, efficiently and with compassion. Update immigration laws and close down all detention facilities. Allow families to remain together. Hire more immigration attorneys and translators so that aslyum seekers can be processed within a matter of hours and assisted with a path to legal immigration.
Mission: Adhere to Geneva Conventions and all other U.N. and International Human Rights Laws. Provide aslyum and a safe haven to people in need, irrespective of their country of origin or their port of entry.
