Space
It’s important for partners to
understand the notion of space.
Sometimes you want to embrace,
Sometimes you want to race
And Sometimes you simply
Want to rest the case.
Sit, without neither talking
Nor sharing anything.
No thoughts, memories, stories or whatsoever.
Sometimes all you need is your space.
But you can’t always have it, can you?
Today, I was a pharmacist and maybe more.
Someone passed through the entrance.
It was a plain, tattooed and doleful young female.
I could tell she lacked self-confidence from her unsteady way of shambling.
"Good morning, how may I help you?" I asked with my most concerned face.
"I'm not okay" she averred with downcast eyes and a wobbly voice. "It's my heart, the pain is unbearable" unable to control her breath, she halted. Tears did not stop flowing neither did she stop wiping them off her jaws.
"We've spent three happy years together but today, today she left me for another girl" she burst into tears and fell on the floor. My colleague gave her a pitying glance and continued his work.
I met her down where she was now sitting and took her trembling hands in mine.
This time, her brooding and pleading eyes meets mine. "I need something to get me rid of this ache, anything"
Her puffy face allowed me to think she has been in such state for a long while.
"I'm sorry beautiful, I wish I could help you but we don't have anything for broken hearts" I replied empathically.
"Maybe sleeping pills? At least to run away from reality"
