Sirens

SOS sirens roar, the paramedics rush then a stretcher picks up my daughter in the middle of a seizure.

"Look," paramedics say, "Little one's happy over there." Your sister of six months with a smile in the corner unaware.

Normally, that sunny smile always warms my heart. But this time was different, it was hot and cold bittersweet.
