Cloudy Imagination
1: Outside the Window
Cloudy, dark. Sunlight is not visible, maybe sunlight is not welcome. Sometimes I want to look outside and see a whole new world. A world of fog were only green hills peaked up. The green patches of hill would cater to a willow tree who’d slowly sway in the soft breeze. Small flowers of yellow and lilac would scatter itself on the grass, not too much though not too little. It almost felt like a paradise to sit and enjoy the breeze. Reflect on the idea so much and enjoy the soft sunset above the hilltops.
But, it’s cloudy and dark. Maybe a world of fire would erupt from the ground. Lava falls like water and lakes are instead of lava. The ground is ash while soot pollutes the air. If you’d open the window, the gray speckles would clog your room quicker than you’d have seen it coming. Just in the distance, a red dragon would fly down. This dragon would be the protectress of this land, silencing any betrayers of their hot land.
The clouds are still overhead, no sign of heat would be plausible here. It looks cold, the frost silently lines the fences as if they’d stay there all night. Maybe, this is the start of the crystal empire. Cold temperatures and freezing pellets. Where a queen would rise and point her hand to the streets, a freezing ice beam would stun the roads and create a slippery mess. She would fly up and reveal a snowy wonderland. Heat would be terrified to come in, salt would be the only victor. The Ice Queen would fall to the inhumane clutches of salt’s hands, disintegrating into nothing shortly after. Huh, that would make her a slug or snail then.
I look outside, one huge cloud as the sky. It looks like it’ll rain. The balance from blistering heat of the dragon protectress and the shivering cold of the Ice Queen; rain. Not too cold to become snow at this height, not too hot to be sweating uncontrollably. It was the perfect combination. However, it isn’t raining. Only silent breezes of brisk air fly by.
Cloudy, dark. I’d rather not go outside, I know it’s too cold. I’d get sick again. Instead, let me bundle up indoors. A nice comfortable blanket next to a lamp of yellow artificial light. I’d sit on a bed, my back on a pillow while my head gently rested upon comfort. I’d pull up a book, A Spirit’s Tail sounds nice for the dark evening. My cat would gently lay next to me, burrowing her muzzle into her delicate paws. Just because, it’s cloudy and dark.
It’s cloudy and dark.

Golden Ticket
3: The Vessel
Everyone says take the train. It’s more efficient and eco-friendlier, that’s why they recommend it. The train I went on, seemed… different than I’d expect.
I needed to go to work, so naturally I needed to be there as quickly as possible. Boss never liked people being late, and luckily, I wasn’t one who’d be late constantly. Some days I’d struggle with traffic or another, others I woke up late form working the night before. Simply put, I’m averagely a consistent person. Though, sometimes being consistently doesn’t pay off. My car was wearing out from the tire. Walking was not an option, work was way too far.
How about the train?
“One ticket from Aurelia to Neptune please.” I directed. I stuttered more like, I wasn’t used to conversations and realized why I’d like to be independent.
The capped man didn’t think anything of it and gave me the golden ticket. A golden ticket? I looked around, no one’s ticket was shiny like this one. Everyone was a dull yellow. “The train will be here in a few minutes, please make yourself comfortable.”
I wanted to further ask why my ticket was different, but the people pushed forward and asked for their ticket. I felt a little upset they’d be so urgent, but where will that get me.
I walked forward, my backpack straps flattening to my shoulders and back. Lately, my backpack was horrendously heavy. Too many binders and books than I’d like. Boss seems to put more onto me than necessary, I always took it then.
“Hey!” I heard a loud deep tenor call out. I looked up to see a man running towards me. He wore a comfortable puff jacket with fur on the hood. His head was in a maroon beanie while his backpack pounded against his back as he ran. “Wait up!”
I put my ticket down and fixed my glasses. It was a habit to fidget with my glasses and avoid any awkward moments. I looked back, he was gone. I got up to investigate, but he was gone.
“You’re new, aren’t you sweetie?” A sweet elderly voice said next to my ear. I looked next to me, a bit startled as you’d expect, and saw an elderly woman with white hair and wrinkles lining her face. She looked comfortable as well, it was a chilly morning after all.
Though, I found it odd she’d talk to me in this. The other train passengers barely talked, if not to their own group. I reluctantly answered. “Yes. I don’t usually take the train.”
“No.” She gave a small chuckle. She held the golden ticket in her hand. I looked down, seeing that was my ticket. “You have the golden ticket.”
I was more concerned and worried from this lady. “I see that.” I answered back. My tone started turning aggressive, but I controlled that more than I led on. “Miss, that is my train ticket.”
She gave a smile and grabbed my palm. She laid the ticket delicately in my hand and clasped her hands top of mine. “Don’t ever let go.” She said with a smile. She got up and wobbled away with her wooden cane. Was that a threat? I couldn’t tell. Frankly, I was too afraid to let go now.
The train came hurling in and abruptly stopped at the station. I got up with my backpack and walked to the train conductors controlling the people traffic on boarding. “Here you go sir.” I handed him my ticket and started walking in. He held his hand out and stopped me.
“You need to wait a minute miss.” He gave me back my ticket and pushed me out of the way for the other passengers.
“Sir, I need to get to work soon.” I concerningly asked. I was growing more and more worried.
“Miss, you need to wait.” He sternly said as he entered the train. The automatic doors closed, locking me out.
Surely now, I will miss work. I was more disgruntled than excited to take a train. I turned around to see five other people.
I heard the low tenor voice groan in anguish. I looked to the right, where the voice had come from, to see the comfortable fur-hooded man holding his ticket angrily. “I need to go to work!” He banged on the door in which the train started moving. “No! You can’t seriously leave!” He started banging harder and the train only roared off. Two whistles from the horn startled him and he gave up. “Damn!” He threw his backpack off. The train passed, and the breeze had calmed down. He looked at his ticket and threw it onto the ground. He disappeared. I found myself staring that way, figuring out how he’d disappear into thin air. I looked down at my ticket, the shining gold stunned my eyes. This is magic? This is all sorcery? There isn’t anything normal about this.
“Strange new feeling, isn’t it?” I heard a new voice startle me, a black man with travel gear had sat next to me. “No need to worry, this is a ticket away.” He gave me a huge smile in his beige outfit. I felt more worried.
“I am needed at work immediately, I can’t wait for another train!” I started panicking more. I can’t afford to be late. I’m not like that, I can’t! Boss would be furious. I have all the progress reports sorted and without them today, the meeting would be a blind conference. “Is there a train coming soon. I can’t stay.”
The black man looked curiously and closed his eyes with a deep breath. “No need to worry ma’am.” He gave a smile again and turned to where the boy had disappeared. “Look at the thin air.”
I looked, see no choice. My ride had left, no train was in site, and only a golden ticket was here. I saw the boy reappear once more. Seeing him kneeling for his golden ticket and picking his backpack up. He was back. He was there! I need more sleep, this is me hallucinating.
“Theodore.” A new female voice entered. I looked in front of me to see a black lady wearing the same attire as the man next to me. Her voice was much gentler than his. “Stop scaring the poor passenger. She might not want to take it.”
He only laughed as he stood up. “My lovely pumpkin.” He took her hand and kissed gently. “It’s our job.” He flashed his golden ticket towards me. “The train will appear any minute, please carefully board.”
He looped his arm with his pumpkin’s and waltzed away. I could hear their small bickering fade away. The man in the comfy hood slumped next to me with an audible grunt. “I’m screwed.” He clutched his ticket in his fist.
I wanted to talk to him, ask him what was going on with this allusive golden ticket. But the whistle blew ahead. The train looked run down and tired. I didn’t trust it.
“That’s us.” Theodore walked back, his pumpkin still laced in her arm. “Please join us.”
The man rolled his eyes and forced himself up. I looked at the other few passengers, everyone had a clear shiny ticket in their hand. They all looked curiously at each other and at the train car. Though, they all followed in. I did the same.
The conductor was horridly pale. He was almost pure white. “Ticket?” His voice was plain yet incredibly ghostly. I hesitantly gave him my golden ticket and was pushed in.
I entered the car, seeing a few rows of puffy blue chairs worn by time. I sat down next to a window, at least I can enjoy the scenery in the meantime. A new man, one with black hair and black framed glasses, came up to me, “Is anyone sitting here?”
Though I wanted to say yes, I couldn’t bear lying to him. He had a sort of magic to him, irresistible almost. “No. You may, if you want.”
He gave a bright smile as he slid next to me. “Name’s Michael. I haven’t seen you on this train.”
“I’ve never been on.” I responded. I felt my stammering come through, what was this? I felt nervous at this new encounter. “Where are we going?”
He looked at his ticket in his hand. “Brenton for me.” He looked at mine, “Oh, I know someone in Neptune. She was a really fighter.” He gave a soft laugh, I felt tranced. This isn’t real.
“How are we on different trains?” I asked. He looked at me quizzically. The train started moving, no bell to signal or any direction, it just moved. I felt very out of the ordinary, more than earlier.
“I’m going to visit my sister in Brenton. What about you?” He ignored my question.
“I used to have work.” I sadly sighed. I felt more anger than I did sadness, however… I was more disappointed than ever. “Not anymore, I’m terribly late once this train ride ends.”
“Aw don’t think that!” He put an arm around my shoulder, I felt more awkward in this situation if I hadn’t before. He looked at me and gave a soft smile. “Look.” He gently touched my chin and turned my head towards the window.
We were underwater. The coral rushed by and the fish swam freely. Kelp ran up swaying gently. Bubbles were in the distant. This wasn’t real, this was amazing. I saw a turtle swim next to the train before diverting away. “How?” I quietly whispered. “That’s so cool.”
“You’re melting.” The man said, rather concerning me. I looked down, I was fine.
“What?” I looked at him.
“Your nervousness, it’s melting.” He took his arm off my shoulder. “This is a train through paradise. To melt any problems of yours. I get on often, my sister gives me lots of anxiety.”
A train ride to a fantasy. An experience of calming relaxation. This is all surreal to me.
A golden ticket to paradise.

Waltzing
4: Dancing
The singular waltz of the night, the one time I’d get to hold her hand and dance the night away. She was gorgeous. She wore a beautiful crystal gown. It was ruffled to a maximum fluffiness, each with crystals bedazzling the dress in a mesmerizing fashion. Her curls bounced elegantly and smoothly as she walked down the stairs. She wore a sparkling shining crown with a blue jewel as the star. She had wings of spiking starbursts, matching her crown perfectly. She was gorgeous, the one I’d love to dance with.
The music was subtle and calming. It was like liquid chocolate, smooth and sweet. I would walk up to her, grab her hand, and twirl gently to the beat. She’d smile, her pale lips showing some shining white teeth. Her eyes, endless pools of easy-going blue, sparkled just like her dress. Then she’d bow down and enjoy the dance.
I snapped out of the imagination. She took the hand of another man’s and bowed to him. She didn’t have that happy smile I imagined, no teeth were showing. Her eyes looked dull, no sparkles at all. The princess didn’t smile to the prince.
I grabbed my mandolin and started strumming to the beat. Dancing, a great tool to invite a guest. Though, I was not invited to this.

Cat Café
5: Food
“I liked this café the best.” I said rather proudly. It was an adorable cat café. The cats lined the window sitting view lazily. “It has good cat-puccinos.” I made a pun, but he didn’t seem too amused.
“You…” He held onto his coffee drink and looked curiously at me. I gave a small sniffle at his look. “You do realize you are allergic?”
I blinked, as much as I could. My eyes were slowly swelling up, I felt it. “Mhmm.” I nodded. “But, they are so gosh darn cute!”
He gave a small sigh then chuckled. “Of course.” He grabbed the cinnamon shaker and put more sprinkles onto his coffee foam. “You are right though, they have good food.”
Oh, the food here. Unlike any other. I took another drink of my cappuccino, it was caramel flavored. The drink would cause a new feeling that warm me, yet the drink was so cold. The music would become increasingly warmer with the low tenors coming out. The room would accentuate on the brown colors and dampen the creamy bright colors. I felt a sense of comfort inside, a sense of liquid warmth. “Say, you wanted some of the cake, right?” He said with just the same warmth the colors brought.
“How’d you know?” I acted shocked, but it was clear I’d think of cake. He got up and went to the cashier for some of the delicate fluffy cake. I was stuck with the cats.
Every cat here had a cute food name. Latte with the fluffiest Burmese cat you’d ever pet! Her muzzle and chin were blotched with a dark nice brown with the tip of her tail and paws, but the rest of the fur was a delicate and loving cream color that I adore. Macchiato was like a slim version of Latte, only with two fluffy lines for her eyebrows. She was more of a tabby than a plain Burmese, but she was nonetheless adorable!
One of the cats kept laying on me whenever I’d come and visit, and it was the black and white patched cat named Oreo. He was particularly fluffy and big. No Norwegian forest cat, but on the chubbier side of cats (for sure)! Oreo was mellow and calm, only getting up when food was involved. Maybe that’s why he’d stay with me, I always had a sort of coffee or food when I was here.
“Back.” He came back, having the cake in his hands. I noticed he wore a pair of cat ears to match his brown hair. “And with cake.”
I couldn’t help but chuckle. “You also came back with ears.” I laid my head on his shoulder, Oreo shifted to make himself comfortable again. I ate a bit of the newly acquired cake, vanilla flavored! My favorite! “Mank oo.” I muffled with the food in my mouth. I think my “thank you” was well intentioned to be noticeable. I straightened myself and ate some more. Oreo sniffed and licked a little bit of frosting off my plate. Luckily, everything was edible and completely safe for both humans and cats. The single best thing about this café! I felt a headband wrap the top of my head and scrapped between my scalp and ears. “Wha?” I looked at him.
“We’re in a cat café.” He looked at me and tried his best not to burst out laughing. “You’re probably… Pumpkin.” At that inquire, he gave a chuckle and shuffled a laugh. I gave him my cake filled plate and lightly picked Oreo off me to set him on the floor. I got up and saw myself in the rounded mirror on the wall for decoration. I had a pair of tabby cat ears on my head. The ear felt was perfectly fit into my hair color, both orange colors. My eyes at this point were not the cleanest, they were swollen over in the short time we stayed here. I looked back, seeing him laughing quietly as to not disturb any cats.
I smiled, seeing himself in the brown cat ears. “Oh, if I’m Pumpkin.” I returned into my position, he gave my food back to me. “You would be…” I took a finger of the vanilla cream on my cake and tapped his nose. “Vanilla.”
The cats started coming up to “Vanilla” and tried to lick his nose of the free delicate food. “Why Vanilla?”
“You have a very sweet personality.” I cooed, Oreo getting back and laying his head on my leg. “But also, because you’re pale.” I laughed. He looked shocked at the sudden change. A cat jumped up and licked his nose. “Aw, Caramel liked that! She likes Vanilla!” I cooed, laughing all the while.
He rolled his eyes and laughed along. “Whatever, Pumpkin.” He scooped a bit of frosting… and some of the cake… and plopped on my nose. I wiped the mess of my nose and ate it. He looked frustrated by the common sense, instead of the cats walking over and licking the icing off my face.
I brought my sleeve to my face and sneezed, my allergies officially have taken over. “We better get going, before you completely become blind.” I ate the rest of my cake and left the cat room. The fresh air outside of the cat room was a nice feeling on my swollen eyes. I took my caramel cappuccino and had “Vanilla” take me home.
A Vanilla and Pumpkin Cappuccino, a harvest themed drink. Don’t you think?

Rocket Ship
7: The Rocket Ship
A vehicle that travels through space and time.
A ship that rockets into a night sky.
An idea that sounds crazy when speaking about it.
A tube of metal of fuel and resources can somehow fly.
The experience it provides is outstanding to observe.
The starry dots sparkling and the view of the Earth.
The idea might sound insane, almost crazy to visualize.
The adventure provides something of worth.
But a rocket ship can never take me anywhere.
But a ship of metal can only sail the seas.
But a rocket of soda can shoot into the sky.
But a rocket ship can’t leave the ground without a gentle breeze.
So, here I am drawing a pencil sketch.
A rocket ship that’ll take me anywhere.
The starry dots and the idea, making me want the adventure.
But knowing I can never leave the ground.
That’s a rocket ship.

The Dream Catcher
8: Dream-Catcher
I saw him. Nobody would’ve believed me, but I swear of it. I saw the Dream Catcher.
I tend to think of the negative sides. If anything, everything haunts me at night where I’m alone and the world is at sleep. This had led to some terrible insomnia in the past, can’t say that’s disappeared until just recently. I fell asleep after a week of none, a miracle it seemed.
The sleep was much less comfortable, especially the dream. Dream… nightmare. I was in a black abyss… the only visible thing was me. I took a step forward, feeling ground beneath me. I took another step; the ground rose upwards. As I retracted my foot, a man rose from the ground with terrible red eyes.
More groans entered my ear, a mass number of black blotches formed around me. I couldn’t tell their sizes, they blended into the background too well. But the eyes, they pierced me. I recognized some eyes, the round brown eyes of my friend. The brown was a tad dark, but still noticeable. I slightly shorter eye level was a cool blue tone, squinting at me. That had to be my sister, her eyes are incredibly detailed in the light blue colors. Though, eyes popped everywhere. Each pair was unique. I could decipher most of the eyes, though struggled with others. Mom’s eyes, the green kind eyes. Dad’s eyes, dark blue and flat. Though the eyes formed around me as if they were a dome. They surrounded me, they watched me. They stared with an indignation, I couldn’t understand why.
Then the eyes focused onto me. They wobbled closer like they were walking to me. I back a little, trying to stay in the center as much as possible, but something grabbed hold of my foot. I looked down, my jeans were being grabbed. A black claw gripped my leg, making me fall. Upon this, more arms grabbed my arm. I couldn’t move. “Help!” I screamed out, no one listened. “Help! Somebody! Stop, please!” Nothing in return. I could only cry, I was helpless. I couldn’t do anything. The gripping was growing intensely tighter. I felt my arm turn numb, strangled to numbness, become immovable. “Stop!” I just wanted to get out.
I felt horrible pain. I heard voices. The voices, I hated those voices. They acted as whispers that drilled into my head. “Nobody’s there” one would snicker. “Give up” another one would remind. “Stop trying” was mixed occasionally. Sometimes the voices would be together in such a layered cluster of voices, I gave up trying to decipher them. They were pestering most of the time, I thought nothing of it. Sometimes, it affected me more than it should have. All I could do now, was cry. Cry like a fool, cry like a child missing her mother. I was indeed helpless now, I had no where to go.
The eyes had inched so close, the eyes started covering each other. Each eye pair was a new whisper. No two sounded alike, they varied in an incomprehensible ball of sound. They got louder, the whispers became a normal conversation, then screamed in my ear. I was stuck.
Then I saw a light behind the eye blobs. A tiny speckle poked through the blackness until I felt my right leg free from the gripped claw. I looked up, stopping my tears for a good second, then saw a brisk flash of white swing just about my face. The eyes disappeared, any sort of blackness has dissipated. I saw a person in a white glowing hoodie carrying a staff with a skull on the end. The claws on my arms let go then I was finally released. The hooded person swung its skull staff once more, killing any dark blobs from reach me. I could breathe. I could loosen up and not feel bound down. I felt free.
I picked myself up, slowly. I felt numb above my joint, I felt a speckling pain if I put pressure anywhere. The hooded man reached for my arm and yanked me to my feet. I fell back down on my knees as he stabbed his staff into the ground and stunning more eyes. I looked around, the eyes were a deep bloody red. They were crying blood at this point.
His weapon shrunk to what I could only assume was a pen. He stuffed the pen in his pocket and dashed off. The man picked my back up as well as my legs. He carried me like a child, I guess I was like one in the first place.
“Think!” He yelled at me. I gathered a better look on his face, he was pure white. His face glowed faintly just like the hoodie. “Think of your bedroom! Think of waking up!” He spoke aggressively, frightening me a little more than it should have.
I couldn’t think of my room, it had become a blur of what had just happened. I felt like I couldn’t leave, why should I leave if I belong here. “I can’t!” I yelled back, hearing the voices become increasingly louder.
“What would make you happy!” He yelled back. “What makes you feel comforted! Think about th-” He was caught off and a man of darkness gripped onto his leg. He stumbled down and dropped me. I tumbled, just enough to view him getting consumed by darkness. “Think!”
I felt terrified, hopeless again. I saw a shine to my right and saw his pen. I reached for it and the staff enlarged to my size. I braced myself for the sudden weight as I swung at the pure white savior. The darkness evaporated with a piercing shriek. I fell on my knees again, having the weight of the skull staff pick me up and throw me. The man looked up, shocked, but sprang back into action. He took the staff and picked me up, lacing my arm around his shoulder. “Think of a happy moment.” He calmly announced.
I thought, my cat. My cat would be laying at the fireplace while I pet her. The subtle purr made the moment worthwhile, the fluffiness of her fur was priceless. She’d occasionally wake up from the trance and looked at me with her bright yellow eyes. She gives a huge purr and rub her head on my head. She was there to help, even when she’s not here anymore.
I felt my arm tug suddenly and I was forced to keep pace with the hooded man. He dashed into a sprint to what was a rectangle of pure glowing white. I felt happy, I felt joyous again. I found myself sprinting faster than the man and reached the door first. I reached my hand out. Though, there wasn’t the pure white hand. I turned back, the man was fighting the darkness.
“You ready?” I yelled out to him. He looked at me, fearful. “Come on! We’re right here!”
The man looked concerned, he tugged on the staff that he’d fight with. He hesitantly ran to me. “Go on!” He yelled.
I froze. Make the decision, think! I ran up to him and forced him to keep up with me. I yanked him into the glowing rectangle with me, an audible “No” faded as I entered the realm.
I woke up with a shock. Panting, sweating, and a cold shiver had shaken my entire body. I looked around, it was my room. My crystal cat lamp was on, shining a happy yellow glow that always had comforted me. I sat myself up, regaining myself. I saw a small note on my desk. I forgot, I had done homework and fell asleep. I picked up the note.
You saved me, but I must go on. Think of the happier moments, not the belittling ones. I must thank you once again. You should get back to sleep, I promise it’ll be a happier dream.
- The Dream Catcher
The Dream Catcher. Everyone had noticed a sudden decline of nightmares in the block and no one could understand why. I looked around, could he be here? Nothing. I looked at the time: 3:37 am. Alright, I took a deep breath and fell back asleep.

A Witch’s Companion
9: Animal
A huge part of the witch community is the opportunity to have a pet to aid in your work. They say that having a pet heightens your senses. Another source had said that you start acting like that animal.
I’m excited for this new adventure. A companion that’ll love me and help me out with my magic! Who wouldn’t be excited for Reunited Day. I can overhear the other kids, “I’ve heard that your animal pairs with you because they are a reincarnation of someone you love.” If that’s true, I don’t know who had died in my family. Not even friends, my friends are so healthy now.
“Alright class!” Miss Fitz announced. “I know this is a huge day for you young apprentices. However, we must act on our best behavior! Some of the companions get shocked by loud noises, we don’t want to scare the new friends away.” Miss Fitz looked directly to the boys who’d constantly create a ruckus in class. I hope they don’t scare my companion. “Everyone, raise your wand in your left hand.”
The class pulled their wands out. Some had the luxury to have painted their wands and put jewels on them, though they were all wooden. Mine had a very special keychain hanging off the end, it was from my mom when I was a small kid. Other people had rare gems that I had never seen before. But, we all held our wands firmly. “Repeat after me.” Miss Fitz had said, “I swear.”
“I swear.” The kids echoed back.
“I will not.” Miss Fitz started again.
“I will not.”
“Scare or hurt.”
“Scare or hurt.”
“Any of the animals.”
“Any of the animals.”
“On Reunited Day.”
“On Reunited Day.” We all ended.
Miss Fitz let her wand down. “Alright, happy Reunited Day!” She opened the door to reveal animals outside of their cages. The caretakers gave a smile as the kids walked in.
Some people immediately got jumped by animals. The girl next to me had a huge wolf pant towards her and crash, immediately licking her face. She was startled but started hugging it. A boy found an owl, matched his personality perfectly. Though, the stranger one, had been one of the loud rambunctious boys and his companion the turtle. I’d suspect he’d have a loud animal, but who am I to tell! They seemed perfect together.
About a third of class had found their companions. Others had to walk around before finding out. I looked around too, seeing a huge number of scary animals to the cutest balls of fluff. One lady had been staring at an alligator who hasn’t come out of his cage yet. “Are you okay?” I asked, she seemed to be contemplating something.
“Mhmm.” She mumbled. “Watch this.” She took out her wand and conjured up an ice cube. The alligator looked up and snapped his jaw latching onto the ice cube. I was traumatized but the lady looked satisfied. “I think he’s my companion.” Part of me didn’t want to accept that, but I was nonetheless glad for her finding her partner.
One of the boys had a black bunny following him. He thought it was freaky at first, until seeing on its neck was a special pendant. The boy bent down and pulled out his necklace, a miracle fit. He cried upon hugging the bunny. I felt such an overwhelming power of emotion, it was heartwarming.
I still hadn’t found my animal yet. “10 more minutes, children!” Miss Fitz called out. How does this exercise work? You can’t get an animal to like you in a matter of minutes, what if you pick the wrong one? You can’t necessarily get a new one.
“You look a bit down.” I heard a cheerful feminine voice call out to me. I looked beside me to find Brigette my best friend since pre-academic years. She had wavy brown hair and a huge witch hat. She was always bubbly, contrasting my somewhat pessimistic attitude sometimes. “Have you found your companion?”
“No.” I sadly said. “I don’t think my companion is here. Maybe it’s in the woods.” I tried to see the happy side of this adventure. “What about you?”
She looked at me with a huge smile. “Meet, Cheese.” She looked down and a ferret squeezed between her. He looked up at me and recoiled behind Brigette. “He’s a little shy. Opposite attract?” Brigette broke of a bit of her cheese string stick and Cheese went up to sniff and eat it. He rubbed his face on Brigette’s hand. “He sure is a cutie!”
She was right, he was adorable! “I hope I get my companion soon.” I wished again.
“I bet you will!” Brigette cheered me up. “Here let me help you find one.” Brigette grabbed my hand and walked forward, Cheese followed her as well. “Let’s see, you are more of a reserved and stubborn person.” She stated. I couldn’t lie, that was true. I liked being independent from the other students. If I’m by myself, I get more done. “A cat!” She rushed my hand to a section of the cage maze of cats.
I loved cats, but they always had a superstition about them. The ferret climbed up Brigette’s leg and Brigette got the message. “I think I’ll go outside, Cheese looks like he wants some fresh air.” She picked up the ferret and left. Here I am at the cat cages.
I looked around, no cat caught my eye. Some cats meowed incredibly loudly while others meowed constantly. No cat had gotten attention.
Then, there was this one cat. She was particularly lazy and poised, prestigious compared to the other cats. She had a pure black coat with a crescent shaped moon on her forehead and back. The back symbol looked like a sigil that we practice with, a dot on the top and bottom of the crescent moon for protection. I investigated the cage she hid in and she looked at me. “Hello.” I calmly said. “My name’s Aria. Would you like to be my companion?”
The cat got up and stretched before going to the cage’s gate. “You have some gut to be talking to a closed cage.” The cat spoke. I froze, she spoke English. “You aren’t like the other auras.”
I didn’t know what to do, the other cage gates were opened. However, why was this one closed? Reinforced even. “I’m sorry, did you talk?”
“Oh, the aura is fading.” She sighed. I blinked and opened to the cat missing from inside the cage. I started panicking a little more. “Startled?” The cat’s voice stunned the air as I saw it on top of the cage. I opened my hand to her. “Excuse me?”
“Isn’t this what you usually do to companions? Have them warm up to you?”
She looked at me quizzically. “You think I’m your companion?” She said with a dignified smile. “I don’t need an owner.”
“I’m not your owner, I’m your friend.” I answered. “I’m a new witch, I just need a companion like you to help me.”
The cat gave a judgmental look at me. “Alright.” She agreed. “My name’s Lun-AH!” She gave a shriek as I swiftly went in for a hug. “LET GO!”
“Thank you so much!” I happily let go, seeing Luna shocked at the sudden embrace. She shook her head of the experience.
I found my companion! I cooed. Luna and Aria! Aria and Luna! The duo that’ll never fail!
She’s my companion. Although… she acts a little strange.

Diary Entry 1: Basic Introductions of a Dragon Park Sorceress
11: Dragon
My dragons love me, just as much as I love them. I believe I love them more, but the are more likely to decline. I’ve had many stories told over time, it’s interesting enough to own a few hundred dragons, but people have been asking nowadays to write it does as a book. People have asked recently what it’s like to be the world’s youngest dragon park owner. They don’t believe I am, but I am a 16-year-old sorceress. I’m here to tell you some stories of my work. My beautiful Airadale, my dragon park.
A simple saunter around my park and you’d find you’d get lost easily. I have 12 islands in general, one for each element and others for the rare dragon habitats of which didn’t categorize in a simple element. I also have some islands outside of the standard island, like the Lost Olympus Island or the Gargantuan Island. I cannot forget the Galaxy Islands either! Everyone needs to be accounted for, even the gemstone dragons.
Getting into this position took much more work than I’d realize. To give some background, I started a dragon park when I was 11, if not 12. This was a slightly major park as I got better over time. However, a freak accident happened, and I could never return. I heard many rumors fly back to me, people saying that the dragons had flown away… the trees have taken over. I’ll be honest, I was beyond heartbroken when I realized I couldn’t return. The Sky-High Park could never be recovered.
I tried once more in late 2014, I remember starting officially in January however I planned in December. Sadly, as underdeveloped as the park was, another storm happened. The scene changed black in a split second. Once I regained consciousness, everything was gone. The simple tree wiped out, any remaining of life was gone, nothing was there. I lost everything again. Thus, I left. Nobody had reminded me of that park again.
Now, as this is the first diary entry, I am happy to announce Airadale. I have 330 dragons, everyone unique and special from one another. I find myself having a difficult time capturing everyone. All my element dragons, all the rifts, apocalypse, crystalline, dream, everything. They are the embodiment of me, the embodiment of time and patience, the embodiment of money, the embodiment of love. 22 islands cut down to 19 if you group the common islands together. I have a great amount of time tending to everyone and I would like to write more entries regarding them. My dragons are my living. I average 290 guests daily and keep that population steady all day. My employees are beyond wonderful, the wizards are forever in my debt, and every friend to have helped me with the dragon eggs are the best I could ever wish for.
I’ve gained legendary dragons like Kairos and Gaia. Kairos, being as stubborn as he is, hated the affection I’ve given him. Though recently, had he wanted to be fed. And, might I add, he enjoyed. Gaia acts like the sweetest motherly figure for the new dragons and dragon eggs. I often gather duplicate eggs in my hatchery and in turn sell them to new owners. Gaia would get overprotective of the egg and didn’t want to give me. I promised, then on, that I would interview the owner before giving them the egg. Gaia approved and didn’t hoard the eggs so much. Ts’aishen is the newest legendary dragon is particularly greedy. He collects all the earning of my habitats, however, tends to duplicate some and cause some fraud. He’s so sweet nonetheless, fluffy as he is!
There so many more for me to gossip and talk about. All my dragons are completely loving, and each have their own personality. I need to tend to my park now, I heard there’s an issue going on with the Sulfur dragon. Snap always liked to steal the food.
Alright, heading out! Bye!

Automatic Welcoming
12: Greeting
“Hello!” The robotic voice spoke so clearly. They tried to make the robot as life like as possible, but this was weird to experience. She wasn’t real, she wasn’t feeling any emotions.
“Hello.” Annabeth had said, tired and placid at first. “Mark a schedule.”
“Ready.”
“5 o’clock pm, there’s a barbeque going on. It’s severely important, but you know I hate the host and I don’t want to go.” Annabeth confessed.
The robot only nodded. “Understood. I will notify the host that you’re unable to make it due to… sickness.” The robot’s eyes flashed a yellow, then she blinked. “Done, you are free 5 pm.”
“Thank you.” Annabeth sighed.
I looked to the android walking next to this man. He was a haggard man, run down and pale. Much different from his young android. “Hello, Adam.” The man tiredly said. “Buy peanut butter from the store.”
“Mr. Harrison.” The robot spoke back, monotone as he was. “I must inform you, you are allergic to peanut butter.”
“Are you denying my request, Adam?”
“Right away, sir.” The android followed behind the old man, slowly and making sure he hadn’t fallen.
These robots are everywhere. I don’t like this atmosphere, it doesn’t settle with me right. The gardeners are forced to give a smile and a simple, “Hello” while they did their job. The pedestrians casually walk like no other. This was unfair, terrible, upsetting. I can think of more synonyms, each one of a negative connotation. Agitating, flustering, unnerving, unmanly, confounded, perturbing, disturbing, puzzl-
“8097, enter name.”
“Entering name.”
“Jamie.”
“Hello, Jamie.”

Blue Jay Jane
15: Eavesdropper
“You would not believe what that pesky little girl was doing to me.” Jane said, loud and clear for the entire neighborhood to hear, “She thought that I was some dog! Chasing me to know end. I was trying to eat one of those salty potato chips, and that blonde little girl just threw a rock at me. Then she ran at me. I flew away faster than you’d imagine.” Of course she would fly away, who wouldn’t?
“Jane, you’re crazy!” Pewter tweeted back, “Must’ve been a difficult flight up here.”
“You bet!”
“No…” April started to chuckle, “You were eating a salty potato chip, I bet you couldn’t get up in the sky!”
April started howling in laughter when Pewter joined in. Jane gave a hmph and used her blue jay wing to push April off the branch. April fell down and glided back to the top.
“Yea yea, whatever. You realize the food shortages lately!” Jane squawked really loudly. “We have nowhere to go, yet we need to eat!”
“Why do think we are shorting out so quickly?” April snarked.
