Favorite Fictional Couple
Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries are my favorite fiction couple. They started off hating eachother, which in my opinion is how the most epic love stories start. She is a beautiful, loyal, strong, and in many ways too good for him because she is in fact a human. He is the complete opposite, he’s rude, conceited, stubborn, and never thinks about anyone but himself, plus he’s a Vampire. When she came around, she changed him for the better in so many ways. She made him feel human again. He protected her and loved her more than anything in the world, as did she. But in many ways they were no good for eachother. She couldn’t help but defend him against everyone even when he was wrong. He did many terrible things and Elena couldn’t help but forgive him everytime, because she loved him. They experienced many hard times during their relationship but is it really love if they didn’t pass through trials? In the end Damon made Elena more alive than ever, he made her feel like anything was possible. And eventually because their love was so strong, Elena made Damon human again. Damon would have rather lived a human life with Elena than have an eternity Vampire life without her. That is the definition of an epic love.

Allance
Otherwise known as Allura x Lance from Voltron: Legendary Defender.
Why do I like this ship? Why is it my favorite?
Maybe because it wasn’t forced. Maybe because it wasn’t what everyone else wanted. Maybe because it was canon.
Lance was introduced as an arrogant and cocky playboy type. Upon learning that he was now in close proximity to a very good looking alien princess, and was a guardian of the universe to boot, well, his ego was pretty big.
Allura was introduced as a character who was meant to defy stereotypes. A beautiful black girl, 10,000+ years old(but was kept in cryostasis), who is not princessy in attitude. She didn’t take any of Lance’s flirting, and shot him down pretty hard.
As time went on, Lance learned that saving the universe is not all fun and games, and almost lost Allura to a prince. He didn’t fight the prince for Allura, however, which I appreciated. He left her to make her own choice, showing that he does see women as individuals. He only fought his rival when said rival was revealed to actually be a traitor/villain. Lance even gave Allura space after the event, possibly knowing that something like that would leave a heart messed up for a while.
Allura slowly came to see Lance as more than a flirt, confiding in him a few times, and even willingly being his partner in a few cases. It was hard to see her falling, possibly because she didn’t even know she was falling.
To make a long story short, Lance made the first move, ONLY when his best friend forced him. And their first date was cute, natural, and a huge turning point in their relationship.

I’m still pissed she died.
Best Super Villain Parents of the Year
We binged Marvel’s Runaways over the holidays. It’s not the best show honestly, but I’m a nerd and things Marvel tend to get watched.
The basic premise of the show is a group of super villains are discovered by their own teenage children, who then run away from home and dedicate themselves to exposing/taking down their parents before they potentially destroy the world.
The characters are all affluent (super villains come from money, obviously) and some are downright tropey, but our absolute favorite evil parenting couple hands down are Stacy and Dale.
They are everything good super villain parents should be - well-meaning, horrifically embarrasing, over protective, and dorky as hell.
If we ever had children and bioengineering degrees we would absolutely send our kids off to school with gluten free homemade protein bars before heading home to feed whole fried chickens to our genetically created dinosaur in the basement.

Authentic Anime Couple
This is OG statues right here but Reapers favorite fictional couple is Lee Shawron and Sakura Avalon from the card captures series. The development of their relationship was so authentic when they finally end up together it's such a good feeling. In contrast to a lot of tropey anime couples that hate each other for no reason but continue working together for some extremely veiled, vague, nonsensical reason, this pairing actually made sense. As a kid who trained since he was a toddler to prepare for magic warfare it makes sense for Lee to be thoroughly disappointed and even look down at Sakura when he sees his fellow card capture is no more than an untrained little girl who only found out about magic a few weeks ago. It's quite the journey watching Lee's view of Sakura going form a civilian on the battle field who needs to be protected, to someone with potential, to a respected partner, to someone he admires. As the badA boy solider, falls helplessly in love with his partner its easy to see why Lee would be confused about his feelings. In addition to such a dynamic shift in his relationship with Sakura he likely never gave dating much thought since he already has a fiancé via arranged marriage. One who shows up later on and is not only a good person but is present for the remainder of the series. By the end of the series Lee breaks off his engagement against his families wishes and finally confesses his feelings to Sakura who is so caught off guard she turns him down making it a very memorable "but... but..." moment for Reaper. But this only makes it that much sweeter when their together in the later series.
