Fire!
I grab first my iPhone. Not because it's my most treasured possession, but because without it I am unable to call the fire department.
I then grab my wallet. Not because I am married to my money, but it houses my cards and my cards enable me to replace what the fire consumes.
I grab my Vape supplies. Once I have these three things I can step back from the fire knowing it can't get any worse.
My mom
My dogs
My dad
I don't care if I die in the fire. I just hope that they'd make it out alive. I wouldn't be able to live with myself otherwise. My mom and dad will care for our puppies, and I secretly hope that they would miss me, but I'm happy just as long as they still get their daily treats. I love you, my brothers.
My heart, my head, and your hand. That’s all I really need.
I can taste the smoke burning in my lungs, I can feel the ash on my fingertips, I can smell the ruins of what I'm leaving behind. But it doesn't really matter, before I left I took my heart. For all the times I need to be reminded life is not all bad. I took my head, to guide my heart, for all the times it falls apart.
And I took your hand because you are all the home I'll ever need.
Just for today this is what I’d grab.
First and foremost, I'd grab my cell phone. Not just to call 911, but it has all of my music on it (which I need to live),and it has all of my family and friends numbers in it. Let's face it since cell phones came around I can not remember anyone's phone numbers by memory.
Second, my snow boots because it's been snowing for days and going out barefoot Id probably end up with frostbite. Getting half my toes cut off and losing my house, at the same time, would definitely make me look at life in a bad way.
Third, I'd grab the warmest jacket I own. Because it's like 4 degrees here today. And no I wouldn't stand near my house when it's up in flames to stay warm...I use kerosene to warm my house up. So I'm not really sure how that would work but I would think the oil would explode or make the house fire real extreme. You know what they say? Safety first.
Losing It All
So, basically, what three things in my house do I take favoritism in, and feel I need to survive? Well, I'll grab my important papers for one. With that I will snatch whomever may lie around the house. A third item, probably just a milk jug for the night.
Why? Well, all of our lives are filled with excuses, on how we can do something, we just already have this or that. The loss of all our possessions is simply a fresh start.
What I’d Save
If I suddenly woke up and my house was on fire, I'd be very hard presses as to what three things I'd take with me, for I own lots of books, all of which I deeply like.
But if it came down to it, I'd take my typewriter, so I can continue to write in the way I like best; I'd also take a stack of blank printer paper, which I keep in my desk drawer for my typewriter; and lastly I'd take one book, any book, it's doesn't matte which, but I'd take one.

1. My phone. Because I would need it to get ahold of the fire department. And also use it to get ahold of whomever else in the aftermath.
2. My purse. Mostly due to the fact that it normally contains necessary items. (i.e. my wallet, keys, etc.)
3. My laptop. I know it may seem superficial, but I have loads of pictures on my laptop. It would be devastating if I lost it, because I don't have the duplicates or any of them backed up elsewhere.
The Most Important Things
Let me see: What do I grab on the way out of my house if it were to happen to catch fire? The first item would have to be chocolate, followed closely by marshmallows, and last, but not least, graham crackers! I mean, what's the point of having a fire if you're not having S'Mores?
