You have to be your own best friend. Your best friend won't keep quiet as people speak badly about you. She won't stand idly by if someone is physically hurting you. No! she will stand up for you. She will never let you do wrong. She always encourages you to do what is best for you, what you most desire. She will DARE you to face your FEARS and CONCUR them. She rejoices in your successes.Your best friend lifts you up when your down. And Prays for you in your darkest of times. She will never let you give up.

To my human eye.

I once learned to love without fear. I watched men holding hands as my parents gasped and put a hand over my young eyes. I met a poor girl with matted hair that only brought upon giggles from girls with golden locks. I invited her over and the world shook in anger, warning me of what society might think. I fell in love with a slender boy no one liked, but I loved him anyway. I made friends with those lacking fear, and we loved each other without a care.

As a child, it was all about personal gain. Send the sibling who got in the least trouble to ask our parents for whatever, get a more favorable reply. Tell my parents I already ate, they wouldn't stop me from what I was doing to go eat. Understand the dynamics in a classroom and figure out how to cheat on my spelling tests. These days it's more like: Lead by example and others may follow. Look down upon someone, and someone's more apt to look down on you. The cosmos is ever evolving so there's always more to learn.

The Earth is our mother and the giver of life in all things. Love her. Love her children. The flora, the fauna -- your brothers and sisters of man. Marvel at her stunning, ethereal beauty, rejoice in her seas and her fires and her winds and silty flesh. Run barefoot through her fields and forests, let her streams kiss you and renew you. Feel the raw unbridled love of the grasses and the trees as they stroke your flesh. There is no energy greater than the love this planet bears for us. Love her in return.

You see the souls who laugh at the world, who look at you with the eyes that say you are nothing, free souls that run from the cages of rules. You think at first: why must they be so vain? And yet they are not. If they truly cared about themselves, they would try, for the same people will never see a future as great as yours. They know this, so they reach for the wings of popularity instead. Soon they will fall, and only then will they wish they chose as you did.

You see, there is something I have realized, something I've observed. Most people rush to flaunt their secrets and fears, their woes and worries. But many times I have learned this lesson, and it pushed onto me an understanding of my mistakes. It really needs no explanation; it is a lesson learned in friendship. There will always be a sun, and you will be a moth to its flame. It may only happen to you once, this attraction to a sun, but when it does, you'll realize this fact:

If you fly too close to the sun, you get burned.

Just when our eyes get accustomed to see in the dark that we have been kept in,

Truth comes forth with a bright torch, blinding all our built up faith into oblivion.

Even though there are blankets of lies around our form,

they make us feel safe and keep us warm,

Truth rips them all apart, leaving us bare,

And thus, truth seems really unfair.

So even though Truth is simple and plain,

And more often than not, only causes pain,

It is something that a lie can never be for sure,

It is powerful, complete and pure.
