Pinwheels
The truth is this -
We spin in circles
Constant motion without direction.
Brightly colored pinwheels,
Searching for love
Seeking acceptance
Looking for the one soul
Who will complete us.
Blind to the mythical nature of our prey.
We drown in disappointment
When love lets us down.
Expecting more than they're able to give.
Pinwheels fade a bit, battered.
Not realizing those who failed us
are also searching.
Spinning as pointlessly as we are.
Doomed to repeat yesterday's mistakes.
Preordained to fail as our parents did.
Destined to be disappointed.
Broken, battered, sun-faded.
Still spinning
With no progress made.
Truth?
To me, it is that which we strive to find each day we walk this planet. An understanding of the unknown, yet is it worth it? Concepts pounded into our minds since we could understand words, the words of parents, friends, leaders, anyone who crossed our paths. Is it worth it? I still wonder, and will until I see the darkness.
Maybe That’s Why
Sometimes it starts off as a lie.
A fake touch of affection,
An I love you with no backing.
It's funny... the truth always comes,
It seems from the start of a lie.
Maybe that's why women are so smart.
The light will always illuminate dark,
He can run and hide in his lies,
But the truth will always be found.
Truth Doesn’t Exist
There's no such thing as truth when you really think about it. You think you know what truly is going around you, and that everything is concrete. But that's a very misguided assumption. The real "truth" is that's there's no such thing is truth and that you know nothing about the world around you.
I Swear to Tell the Truth, Unless It’s Wrong, So Then It Wouldn’t Be the Truth, But That’s a Major Issue, And I Just Confused Myself...Again
The truth, the truth, and nothing but the truth.
There are generally three sides to a story: your side, my side, and the truth.
But what is the truth? Here's an easy one - a proven fact. But what defines proven facts? Sure, we have our science, but humans make mistakes all the time. How do we know that some of our most basic, commonly accepted ideas are true? We don't, at least, not really. With regards to the truth, there are infinite interpretations of an event, and they could all be partially true. So what is the truth?
