Unfolding Petals (dedicated to LillyZ)
Pain was a burden for this delicate flower
flowing through her veins from a time
gone by, without fanfare, but lingering
deep within her core from torments
she bore deeply within her feeling soul.
Suffering kept within, with hushed silence
angst was lifted by opening searching eyes
as words spilled passionately onto pages.
Peace came from within and from love
in her heart for her man and from his love
nurturing, acceptance and encouragement
filling the spaces that once loomed barren.
She unfolded her petals into her true beauty
opening up her flowering majesty as a lily
revered in Greek mythology as sprouting
from the milk of Hera, Queen of the Gods.
The flower’s thoughts rippled from teardrops
into rivers of words atoning for the time
before her true beauty eclipsed her past.
Kingdom
You are the kingdom come,
Someone who shared my love; freedom
A love that beats like an old steel drum,
Stay like that, my kingdom come
We'll remain a mystery,
Maybe that's all we were meant to be
You might never be more than words to me
But in the end it's words that set us free
You are the kingdom come,
Someone who shared my love; freedom
A love that beats like an old tell drum,
Stay like that, my kingdom come
EMOTIONAL SOBBING
I can't pick just one, so I'm going to cheat and write for a special few <3
@Miggie I can't tell you how much you mean to me. When I opened up about things, you were always there to leave a comment and brighten my day. When I went to therapy last year, it was kind of stressful, and there was one specific comment from you that I read over and over and over and it kept me going. I know we've bickered here and there, but I hope we can look past that. I love you and I don't want you to ever, ever, ever think I'll stop. Thank you for always being there, and if you ever need to talk, I'm here. I know I'm only some fifteen year old kid, but I've still got ears, and I've gotta pay you back somehow for all that you've done for me ;) (also, I know it isn't
@paintingskies I know I've maybe come on too strong at points, (a lot of points, really) but you are so inspiring. I'm not sure if you've come to this conclusion already, but: you are more than your past. I know it's not this easy, but i don't want you to ever undervalue yourself. You're a great person, and a great writer. You've got amazing potential, and you're already amazing. I hope that we can be friends sometime Sam. And one last time: you are more than your past, and you are way more than your insecurities.
@AnitaRosner You are a beautiful, wonderful, and hilarious woman. I will NEVER EVER forget the poem you wrote for me, and I'm going to print it out and pin it up sometime. I will never forget you.
@Lsu11 do I even have to explain to you this one? Haha! You're wonderful and you're amazing. You're like that friend that I go to coffee shops and cafe's with to catch up. You've been through some tough times, and still are I'm sure, but you kept truckin' on. And that is inspiring. Thank you.
Also, one last shout out to everyone on Prose that interacts with me and talks to me. I live in a tiny Kansas town of roughly 4,000, with only about 500 kids in my entire high school. I feel trapped, stuffed, and stuck every day of my life in this place, but you guys open a new, bright, wonderful world for me to be in. I'm not religious, but I'm pretty sure Prose is like the Garden of Eden from the bible. Thank you all, a shit ton. I don't know if I'd still be here with out this website. Im pretty sure this challenge was wanting poems, but like I said at the beginning, I sometimes cheat ;)
A Rhyme for Robin (@RubyPond)
The little bird carries a lot words,
Some from the fairy tales, some unheard,
Beware she knows how to draw blood from your body,
But her passions are more lovingly wordy.
She knows how to win a little boy's heart,
She seems lovingly kind from the start.
She is always upbeat about a challenge or two,
From rhyme to erotica with ease she flows through.
Beauty Undefined
Some call it narcissism or arrogant,
I call it loving something other’s hate.
Looking in the mirror and telling yourself you are pleased is necessary at times. Reminding yourself that you are beautiful does not require an approval from a world,
I stand unapologetic if you really have a problem with this beauty.

Swimming the Sea, Finally Free
Freedom is the dream we share
Though it is a burden to bear
You are now with me there
Words of similar
Brought us together
I thank thee for understanding
Allowing me a landing
There is someone there with me
Knowing the desperate need
The need to flee
And though words is all they see
You are much more to me
I dream of kings
I dream of queens
And though we may be
Torn at the seams
We will one day be free
So I am kingdom come
Let us see now
What of us will become
Let us be open to swim in the sea
Within no vicinity
No rules to keep us in
So let the adventure soon begin
The Grand Story
She walked in with a paper in hand,
Her pretty face, sporting a grin,
Greeted Him without losing her smile,
“I have some speech work. You in?”
Overwhelmed by two things so nice,
Two beautiful things at once,
He agreed without any hesitation in mind,
He felt far away from his blazing guns.
His Blazing guns were hours of his usual life,
Hours of boredom, agony, and miniature distress,
All the time spent with Her,
Was miles away from his mess.
Nobody would believe it was their first meet,
Nobody’d believe that they’d never worked together before,
The result of their work was appreciated by all,
It was the beginning of a friendship, infinitely pure.
Their conversations were never futile,
Far from cheesy and stale,
From His prison of gloom and boredom,
Him; Her words would bail.
He met her everyday in the eve,
And everyone thought He was trying to weave,
A nest only for the two of them,
His efforts, He thought, not going in vain.
He was the guardian to her angel,
She was the usher of his wandering soul,
He wanted Her in his life for time remainder,
That, for Him, was his only goal.
Winter crept in around the same time,
And He found Someone else to hold,
The Someone was a dark poison, which made colder,
The things that were beginning to get cold.
He realized that his Someone and Her were like like poles,
He realized that they were fire and ice,
He chose love over infatuation,
And rolled the dice.
His Someone went out of the play,
His Someone got the sack,
Darkness and black walls no more,
Spring was back.
They spoke at competitions together and won,
She won them and He clapped for her always,
They set stages ablaze with their words,
In His words for Her, He says,
“All the light in the world,
Like all the stories untold,
Just like a surprise unfolds,
Shall fall upon you.
Make you shine always,
I’ll be there with you,
As your friend,
Till the very end.
I’ll stand beside you,
Ready to lose everything,
To see my only wish come true,
To see you win.
Bask in all your glory,
Tell the world your story,
In your long ride,
I’ll always be by your side.”
Such were His thoughts,
Which He could never think aloud,
For She was something He could never win,
She deserved something much better than Him.
This is for @tictac. I dunno how to tag someone here.
