Dooming Menace
Darkness flickered upon her mask
murky passions reeled me in
yearning for perilous reward.
Duskiness, festering, waiting
ominous clouds agitating currents
promising dooming menace.
Foreshadowing evil cloudbursts
blood dripping from her lips
weeping down sanguine body,
Green eyes crazed and wild
lightning flashes omen
beware the devil within.
I heard the threat
shadowy voice of evil
shrieking, encompassing
unlit aura around her head.
Run, run, run!
I screamed to myself
But I plummeted
To blackest doom
Ignored the cautions
And became one
with her body,
incorporated within
her vile soul.
Promise
You were my tether to an undefined world,
dripping with promise and honey-coated sighs,
a fashionable world where the women wear pea coats,
and no one goes out in sweats,
where suited gentlemen escort lovely ladies,
with faces shaped like a moon
of Jupiter, of Saturn,
marble in the distance,
with primrose lips
and poppy cheeks,
two petals pinched together
for an all encompassing kiss.
We'll always have time to dress
and money to dress with.
Our makeup will be soft,
like dandelion furs on the wind
blowing into your breath,
and traveling down your lungs.
Inhale
the submerged dreams of magazines.
Quantify
Complex as it may be, attraction can be broken down into three primary elements, each with two main contributing factors.
1) Nonverbal Emotional - this is the desire to be in someone's presence regardless of what you are doing. This element is the most difficult to define and also the most crucial.
Contributing factors include: body language and facial expressions
2) Verbal Emotional - this is the desire to speak and listen and be listened to. This is arguably the most "human" of the elements.
Contributing factors include: charm and empathy.
3) Physical - this is the desire for sex or other physical contact (such as kissing, hugging, cuddling, etc). This is the most basic/animalistic of the elements.
Contributing factors include: pheromones and the evolutionary need to reproduce
Note: I am well aware that attraction is impossible to accurately quantify, so this should not be taken too seriously. I simply found it interesting to write.
