To him that cursed me to this life!
I did nothing wrong but sing his song
I gave him children he didn't care
A home a heart my love I shared
I took all the beatings all the hate
One drunken night he changed my fate
He thought I'd crumble he thought I'd fall
He thought he had me against the wall
I took his curse and turned it around
In time with life some peace I found
But not enough to be free
Not enough to be me
Never again be me
Never let myself be free enough again to
Just be me.
