Part 3
Erin grabbed the gauze from my hand and had me sit on the edge of my bed. She cleaned and wrapped up my arm from where Deera had scratched me.
"What did I tell you?" Erin asked as she looked at me.
"That she was dangerous." I said as I heard sniffing right outside our door.
Then, came the knocking upon the door. It wasn't the lighter knocks you would normally hear, but these were hard and the door was splintering until it finally gave into the hard pressure. In came Deera, sword drawn and ready to kill me at any moment.
"Here you are, my dear. Or should I say, Dinner!!" Deera said as she looked crazed and started laughing.
"Ah, hell. I don't want to do this, but you leave me no choice." I said as I grabbed an arrow and dipped it into a sleeping cream for Draginucous.
Deera lunged at me as Erin stepped away from me. I plunged the sleeping arrow into her shoulder blade. She backed away from me and looked at the arrow. She looked at me and fell over, belly first and flat on her face.
I took her to the infirmary.
Last Life (Part 3)
My last life. Even as I stared, uncomprehendingly. at the singular stripe on my back, I couldn't believe it.
Now what? Jared isn't gone, what the Hell am I supposed to do? How will I live through the next night when I'm being hunted?
Moreover, who on Earth cares? No one gives a rat's ass about me, really. My boyfriend ditched me for my freakiness. Maybe I should kill myself. That would solve a lot of problems. I look around into the dark night, listen to the wind and rain, and I know I won't kill myself. I just like living.
I like it a little too much.
A small dog wanders in front of me, and I stare at it. The dog stares back with soulful brown eyes. Dogs are such an adorable species, yet they are also so pitiful. I've never understood the fascination humans have with dogs. Maybe it's because they are both such a pitiful, useless species. Wolves are better, much more respectable, but they hate all cats.
The dog is still staring at me. I begin to get uneasy.
"What do you want?" I hiss at the small beast.
It lunges, and everything goes dark.
