Challenge Ended
Rhyming definition
I don’t feel much like writing lately, so I thought I would create a challenge to inspire you all to write instead. Write a definition, and make it rhyme. I have provided an example. Tag me to read your entry. (Let’s keep it fair: no mass tagging, please)

Apathy:

Numbly going from a motion to a motion, like flat stones skimming a still ocean.

No emotion.

Haunt!

it’s not a taunt,

All for naught~

a shadowy image-

see it is full of rage

no place to run—

her work shall be done.

Human

Made up of a central mind,

Where sanity can be difficult to find

Filled to the brim

With contradictions created on a whim

Mistakes, flaws, they master it all,

Struggling to stand tall

Inevitably, history repeats,

From which darkness secretes

No matter what, they try,

Overcoming adversity, even as they cry

serendipity

The unexpected ecstasy

Of glazed lips...Embrace of hips

From a friendship

With wings of a dove

Love, Defined in Rhyme

Eternal; without fail

And ever perfect

When sown in our hearts

It begets and begets

In action and deed

A verb when expressed

Toward others in the form

Of loving kindness

An image embodied

The gift of a son

A picture of love

The begotten one

Devotion, cherish

Some of love’s synonyms

Fear, hate, detest

Love’s antonyms

Amore in Italian

Agape in Greek

Love in each language

Of volumes it speaks

It’s roots found in life

Etymology

Long before, antiquated

It’s destiny

Formerly “lufu”

In Old English speak

Love sounds much better

Than “I lufu you” to me

Venus

She is not the he so red.

Stains that wet the blooded bed.

De milos in bronze formed visions

casts a fool in torments prison

for the love in loves name born

the hearts of all her victims torn.

She is venus.

Desire

I may be discerning

though I never am learning

to stop always needing

this incessant feeding.

Filled to the brim

the outlook is grim,

for soon it resumes

my need to consume.

Copacetic

To define is fine

when words are placed on each line.

Uncommon word this may be,

the definition is plain to see.

When friends come together,

more than any other,

all will have a grand old time.

We can all agree things are cool,

and no one is no one's fool.

Let us all agree, including me,

to enjoye life and live free.

And today that is your lesson,

time to get life kicking and in session!

petrichor

According to the lore

When Greek Gods of yore

Were sliced and diced in times of war

Instead of blood and dripping gore

From their veins seeped ichor

But you can make it something more

If you just wait for it to pour

When blood of Gods and stone align

The smell of rain on soil are twined
