once its gone,

there is nothing

but the dryness

on my cheeks,

clinging to my knees

as the tears stopped

afterwards.

a pink drink

to help me

think

would be

very nice

but for now

my ink

will be

my pen's drink

clink!

A seed grows

Expands

Life building within the

Comfort of the womb

But it soon announces

Its intention

To emerge into the light

A pause of expectation

Turns to realization as

The water breaks

The contractions come

One followed by another

Closer now

Push, push

Both baby and mother dancing to the

Unrelenting forces of nature

The crown emerges

A scream of pain

And delight

Again, push, push

Each breath labored

But with focus, a direction

And with a sudden shot

The head comes through

The baby emerges fully

Into the light

A new jewel in the

Beauty of the world

And its first cry

A proclamation of

A new beginning

Is it just me

Or does everything fade

Even those promises

That we once made?

Swept out to sea

Caught in a storm

All those promises

Soon lose their form

& where do they go

These broken words of sweet perfume?

Are they buried forevermore

Lost inside a bottomless tomb?

Who can know?

Who can say?

When we're the ones

Who throw them away

These words are wasted

Meaningless drivel

Pointless sentiment

That can become uncivil

Words are special

They can paint a picture

& should not be spoken

With malicious stricture

Words can build a tower high

& later tear that building down

So use your words with ample caution

Without an arrogant, frivolous crown

Always think before you speak

Don't let your words go for cheap

& most importantly don't make

A promise you will never keep

I saw a white butterfly

it was free, like I used to be

now, between bars

I can only see green

green, grey and red

the smoke is visible

and everytime I see it, I get shivers down my spine

I used to be free

now, I can only see walking skeletons

we no longer live or love or feel

when everything is over

I want to fly, like that white butterfly

and get used to be free
