Sheep Across Azure Vaults
If we never meet again, I’ll know
you can’t be shorn from my heart.
You thawed my hardened iced soul as
we danced together on frozen stars,
my breath inhaled in exuberant joy.
Our heat tiptoed in waves of silence
at the edge of our beginning, circling
our essence in naked words as we
patched our outer shells together,
reveling in intoxicated moonlit dust,
surrendering in place of long grass blades
navigating by stars in your moonlit eyes.
Clouds rolled in like sheep across azure vaults
in steamed vapor of our passionate breaths.
Our eyes locked in two-step through the heavens
tied together in silk laces of love embraced.
Our love remains in our ageless thoughts but
we’ll have to meet in our dreams as we sleep,
once rosy roads have parted in dusty endings,
our residual bones fluttering in the breezes.
